I went out with my son on the 21st of August with Carl on Gwen Paul from Conwy. Started a little slow, but when we found the Mackerel, we caught plenty to keep us in bait and for those who wanted to take some home. I really wanted to catch a Tope, but Carl wasn't hopeful. We ended up landing 4 on the boat, ranging from 15lb to a 30lber caught by my son. Lot's of other species, dogs, bull huss and whiting but the Tope were the stars of the trip. Great day out, very good and patient skipper . Would definitely recommend.

We've had some solid fishing so far this month both inshore and offshore. Reef and bank trips are producing some cracking Tope with the best one so far weighing in at 42lb, caught by Wilf. Other species include Thornback Ray and Bull Huss. Offshore, the best fish so far this year is a 16lb 4oz pollack a personal best for local angler Mally. We've had a few cod to 7lb on the wrecks too. Conger and ling are also about on the anchor over slack water. Mackerel have thinned a little from their early season numbers but we generally pick up enough for bait through the day.

Great to see plenty of fish back on some of the closer wrecks. Pollack to 8lb yesterday. Also a fair number of cod to 3lb, numbers the likes of which we have not seen for a couple of years. Plenty of mackerel too now the algal bloom is clearing. Please give me a ring or drop me a mail if you'd like to book a trip.

    Cheers, Carl

Plenty of early season pollack, to 7lb, last Saturday and Sunday. A few coalies and a couple of mackerel too! Water temperatures are 2-3 degrees higher than average for this time of year, so it seems the season is starting early. There's room on a few days over the next couple of weeks if anyone fancies a trip. Cheers, Carl.

We took advantage of flat calm seas on Sunday and fished a few wrecks offshore. It was definitely a red letter day and I don't think I have ever seen so many double figure pollack, probably at least 20 doubles. The biggest one was 16.5 lb caught by Brian (pictured), who's been fishing with us for over 30 years, over the moon with this PB.

Weather is set fair for a few days now, but tides are big, so we'll be mainly doing ground fishing trips where the fishing has also been good this summer.

We have room for two on a three day Ireland trip on 26th-28th August if anyone fancies another crack at some double figure pollack. The trip costs £350 including 2 nights B and B, with a maximum of only 8 on the boat.

    Cheers,

    Carl.

We've been busy over the last month despite the challenging weather, considering its summer!. The ground fishing has been good with more thornback rays than we've seen for many years. There's been a few tope to 30lb and huss to 15lb mixed in with the rays. The wrecks have also been fishing well with pollack to 13.5lb, coalfish to 5lb, ling to 9lb and cod to 7lb. A three day Isle of Man trip last weekend saw some great weather with plenty of species including the colourful cuckoo wrasse.

There are spaces listed on the schedule but please ring if there isn't a suitable trip for you to book and I'm sure we'll be able to sort something out.

    Cheers,

    Carl 07710819747.

Its a long time, probably a few years, since we have had such a settled spell of weather. Over the last two or three weeks we have realised very good pollack fishing on the offshore wrecks. The best fish was a pollack of 13 lb caught on Tuesday. A few coalfish have also been taken up to 4 lb. We only saw one large mackerel on Tuesday but there have been reports of a few more being caught inshore. The May/June bloom is starting to die off now and the northerly breeze we've had for the last couple of days will help to break the bloom up and clear the water. Once that happens the mackerel should appear in numbers along with all the other summer species, like thornbacks and tope.

We have space on a ground fishing trip on Sunday 19th and space on a 10 hour wreck fishing trip on 29th June.

    Cheers, Carl 07710819747
