    ⭐️⭐️⭐️ WHAT A DAY ⭐️⭐️⭐️
Bumper weather along with BUMPER fishing.

Today saw Spot On and it’s crew head out in lovely calm conditions and glorious ’summer’ sunshine.

A couple of wrecks in and and BOOM! It was on, the quality of the fish was very good with lots of double figure prime pollock coming in for the lads every drift.
The day was safe to say great with everyone aching and plenty of fillets for all.

Biggest fish fell to Tim Phillips with a fine specimen pollock of 16lb 4oz.

This was a trip that will be remembered that’s for sure! ️

A big thanks to #sidewinderlures once again for there deadly Skerries eels which did the damage today that’s for sure.

NEXT BREAK IN THE WEATHER AND WE GO AGAIN.

    Aug 2019 by Ross Parham

With our first ever thresher shark trip unfortunately canceled due to bad weather and last weeks shark trip cancelled also, I was wondering if I was ever going to get to go shark fishing this year!

But the first shark trip of the year was certainly one to remember for all onboard Spot On!

The lads wanted to have a go for some sharks closer to home in the hope of catching a thresher that have been spotted regularly this year.

We headed out armed and ready. Once we arrived it was busy on deck getting the rubby dubby in place, rods baited and floats sent out in formation and we waited and we waited some more then the screaming run we wanted and I was lucky to have it on my rod so I picked up the rod and clicked the drag into strike on my pen reel and it was not slowing down, then into full drag and still not slowing down, I was thinking to myself this has gotta be my thresher as the line flew out horizontal as we were all waiting for the leap these fish are famous for but it didn't and it just kept running and running, pulling the boat around in circles with its strength.
The fish finally showed itself in typical pin wheel style and it was then we got our glimpse of the first Tuna to be hooked on Spot On! And the first for a Brixham charter boat.

We towed the fish alongside to remove the hook and keep oxygen over its gills, it was measured at 72". Making it approx 220/250lb. Fish released and swam away and it was back in formation and then John had a run resulting with a nice small blue shark of approx 40lb.

Later in the day again it was my rod screaming off again, I picked it up and the same as before but this was bigger and faster. I gave the rod to the lads to fight and went and started the engines. Twin engine outside controls made easy work following the fish as it stripped the reel of its 100lb braid.
Then the dives, the same as before so we knew it had to be another Tuna and it was, this time a massive 92" 400/450lb monster swam alongside us as we measured, towed, removed the hook and released to see this amazing creature up close and personal was stunning and the sheer power and size of these fish is immense.
Another run and number 2 blue shark of 60lb caught which took 2 baits but still did some great strong runs and put up a good scrap, one more dropped run and that was that, we packed up and headed home with memories that will last a lifetime.
I have some underwater footage on my go pro and awaiting some better pictures that the lads took for me so they will be updated in due course.

Please remember any BLUEFIN TUNA caught will have to be released at the side of the boat.

We did not set out to catch these fish and to hook 2 and land 2 in the same trip is astonishing.

I have emailed the Brixham MMO office and notified them of these captures and updated them with measurements.

Spot On is Brixhams premier charter boat and again another first for a Brixham charter boat. Not 1 fish but 2!

    2019 bookings being taken.

11 Jun 2019 by Gareth Jones

The four of us travel from Poole each year for two or three wrecking trips on Spot On. The Monday wrecking trip was very successful with the four of us catching a total of 30 pollack, but no other species. The Tuesday trip was blown off, so we went fly fishing instead. The Wednesday trip was eagerly anticipated so the four of us confirmed our standard £5 bet of the first to get a Triple Crown. The triple crown is achieved by catching three species from cod, pollack, bass, coal fish, ling, John Dory and Angler fish. We usually have a £10 bet for a Grand Slam, which is four fish from the seven species, all caught on the same trip, but we all failed to confirm this bet.
Ross first tried the three closest wrecks and I got a ling on the first drift. We didn't stay long and soon moved to the second wreck where I caught a bass, again on the first drift. Nothing on the third drift so we moved to the mid channel wrecks where I caught a pollack on the third drift and happily took £5 each from my three colleagues. We moved to a second mid channel wreck where I caught a cod. For the first time in twelve years of fishing in Dorset and Devon I has competed our aptly named Grand Slam. I thank Ross for the opportunity to do this along with my three mates for their £15 contribution to my beer fund.
PS - on the Monday trip on of the anglers caught a coal fish, but alas no JDs or angler fish.

Spot On has had her scrub and clean and 'NEW' coding complete and it was back to work straight after.
With the wrecking difficult earlier this year it was great to get back out for another go and what a day we had.
Plenty of prime double figure pollock hitting the net from the off with every drift.
This is what this time of year is all about on the south coast and is simply some of the best fishing you can experience in the UK.
A bonus 12lb 4oz bass for local angler Alan which took a sidewinder lure.
A new PB for him and what a start to 2019 that's for sure.
    Bass safely returned.

Big thanks to boat sponsors sidewinder lures and Top Rigs for there support.

Spot On has a busy year planned and new ventures lay ahead.

A big Merry Christmas from myself and Spot On

Once again 2018 has been a very successful year and with 2019 looking 'stacked' it's going to be a good one.

So many amazing moments including the biggest turbot caught in the Channel Islands from a visiting English boat.
Out right winner of the Torbay festival along with many other great prizes and also TOP CHARTER boat once again.
Witnessing amazing thresher shark leaps and White beaked dolphins along with the blue fin tuna.

Some new pioneering ventures planned. Let's hope the weather is on our side.

Diary is pretty much full so a big thank you to all customers and friends old and new and I look forward to seeing you all in 2019.

Once again a big thank thank you to SIDEWINDER lures and TOP RIGS for there continued support.

Brixham is fast becoming the place to be and with the amazing fishing that is on offer you can see why.

The next few months is one of the best times to go wrecking as the winter pollock fishing for these 'big' hard fighting fish is second to none.
Don't forget that the blonde ray boat record is also held around the corner on the skerries bank so if you want the chance of a big ray then this is worth a go too.

    Happy Christmas once again

    Jun 2018 by Ross Parham

Just finished an exhilarating 2 days fishing with MILNROW SAC.

Day 1 was spent fishing for blonde Ray's and Plaice.
A mixture of uptiding and downtiding for this and it wasn't long before the first bite and a cracking blonde ray of 26lb hit the net.
The action was soon fast and furious with upto 3 Ray's on at once and the size and quality of the fish was also very good.
A total of 24 blonde Ray's boated with 6 of them over the 20lb mark and only 4 under 10lb.
Anchor up and on the drift for the plaice, again some good action at times with the biggest plaice being 2lb 4oz.
Speicies caught on day 1 were blonde Ray, plaice, dogfish, tub gurnard, grey gurnard, red gurnard, whiting and mackerel.

Day 2 and the sun was out again and it was off to get some mackerel for bait for conger and Ling.
After a couple of hours we had enough bait and we steamed out to the choosen wreck, anchor down and baits set, first action was a nice ling and then the eels came to feed along with the Ling, biggest conger landed was a cracking eel of 53lb for Jim (not bad for a 20lb class rod and 30lb braid mainline).
Anchor up and on the drift. Pollock and cod coming to the net straight away and continued every drift until the steam home.
Conger to 53lb, Ling to 15lb, pollock to 15lb and cod to 5lb.
Species caught on day 2: conger, Ling, cod, pollock, pouting and mackerel.

A stunning 2 days weather wise and as you can see the fishing wasn't bad either!

Pictured is father and son Mark and Cameron holding a brace of blonde Ray's.

Still a few 2018 dates available and now taking bookings for 2019.

Spot On does what the name suggests, Brixhams premier charter boat and the only catamaran. Speed, space and stability.

A break in the weather meant that we managed to get out mid channel wrecking 4 days in a row.
Glorious weather all days and accompanied by lots of dolphins which is always great to see.
Again wrecking proved to be very good with lots of prime pollock being caught every day, plenty of double figurerd fish around up to the high teens.
We also managed a lovely specimen grey gurnard of 1lb 8oz along with ling, our first cod of the year, pouting, whiting and some bass. (Returned alive quickly)
This fine fishing should be set to continue for the next month or so.

Top lures over the 4 days were the skerries Sandeel by Sidewinder.

Dates are filling fast so if you want a trip on board Brixham's premier charter boat and only catamaran then feel free to contact me.
