    sunday 3rd april
today was another nice spring like day.the first wreck was about 7 miles out. and produced only a couple of cod 3-4lbs.
so we pushed futher on the next wrecks again fished steady with 1 or 2 fish per drift. mainly cod upto 8lbs. with ling on the mackrel and squid baits.one lad having crab was having more sucess with a fish every drift till he ran out of crab.
again the futher we got out the cleaner the water was and the shads kicked in.
all in all a steady day with most anglers averaging 6 to 8 fish each.

12 May 2010 by Allan Skinner

weather has been so unpredictable laterly. had to scrape ice off my car and the boat minus 2 degrees crazy for middle of may.
set off at about 7.30 just cleared the peirs and straight into a shower of large hailstones that actually hurt when they hit you.
turned south the sea had a bit of northerly roll on but not to bad once the hailstones passed. twenty minutes to the first wreck.
down went the rods. first off a cod of about 4lbs to a chrome jigger an one pouting to bait [suid]
around again 2 ling again on squid 4/5 lbs each. nothing next 2 drifts. away to next wreck. simalar pattern but a fish or 2 every drift with cod to 8lbs an ling to 9lbs. the next wreck was the same steady a fish or so each drift.
fishing was steady away until after dinner when the tide changed an the drift speeded up and only occasional fish being taken. for about 2 hrs
but later the wind eased [an warmed up] and the fish came on again.
so all in all a reasonable day with about 45 fish mainly in th 4-6lbs range

had a crackin day out today. flat calm seas warm and sunny.cleared the tyne peirs for 7.45am. headed to the first wreck in hope of mackrel, [normally in by now but slightly late this season]. imediaterly a couple of rods double over into fish. however it was obvious from the bend and pulling motion these were bigger than macrkel, sure enougth two plump cod at 3 and 4 pounds lay on the deck. perfect white bellied cod. [nice clesn run cod]
another pass and another couple of simalar cod.then one lone mackrel. the first this season. and as it happens the only mackrel of the day. set off to the next wreck. again a fish or two almost every drift with cod and ling to about 7lbs.
a steady stream of fish coming over the gunnel.this pattern of fishing continued as we worked our way steaderly offshore. with a cod of 14.5lbs coming aboard several ling into double figures. then over the slack water a lovely ling of 16.5lbs followed quickly by a pollack of 10lbs both to the same lucky angler. all in all a crackin day afloat just the 1.5 hours steam home and to do it all again tommorrow are well??

10 May 2009 by Allan Skinner

eventually after a very blowy couple of weeks, sunday was a lovely day. flat calm seas awaited us.went around about 8 wrecks a few fish off each wreck. [the wrecks and hard ground actually fished better when the wind was howling].
the slack water period proved to be the best time with several reasonable ling coming aboard over this period. by now the sun was out and the teperatures picked up and it was turning into a hot flat day with the sea turning into a sheet of glass a couple of cod just on the double figure mark also put in an apperance. before we knew it the day had flown over and it was time to steam home. approxamterly 1 and a half hours home.a little bit of video was made of the day if you wish to see it please click link to our website then link to videos

13 Apr 2009 by Allan Skinner

out monday bank holiday.a thick carpet of fog awaited us, however it wasnt long before the sun broke out giving us a lovely day with a flat calm sea.first wreck we visted first drift 3 rods immediaterly bent over producing 2 cod and a ling all in the 4-5 lbs bracket. this set the tone for most of the day with all wrecks producing fish.steadily working or way offshore. the fishing just got better. with one wreck resulting in eight rods all bending into fish together.the stamp of fish slowly increased as well. with some nice ling and cod just into double figures.
an unusual addition was about 10 -12 herrig being caught. these we used for bait producing several decent ling. as it is still 3-4 weeks before we expect the arrival of the mackrel. then the wreck fishing will really kick in.
all in all a cracking day afloat with about 50-60 nice fish being caught
