I know a lot of people moan about having to put bass back but for me it’s a lovely sight to see them swim away unharmed especially a lovely breeding fish like this

Some nice pollock started turning up again on the reefs, all within 6 miles of the harbour. So a typical day is drifting the reefs with lures then on the anchor for bream and tope. Dare I say the fishing is picking up nicely but the mackerel are very scarce

June saw the arrival of the cod not huge numbers of them but none the less they have arrived. The pollock have thinned out a bit towards the end of June and generally smaller fish. The plaice fishing is good some days but not as good as recent years. Mackerel well goodness knows what’s happened to them they seem to be very scarce in most places down in the south. We had our first bream of the year in the last week of the month, let’s hope this glorious weather keeps going for many weeks to come.

Good numbers of pollock are moving in on the reefs and inshore wrecks now , lots of fish in the 6 to 9lb range. The plaice fishing is not too bad iether when conditions are right and should carry on improving

There are some nice rays showing up on the inshore marks now also a steady flo of plaice. All we need now is the weather to settle down so that we can get out there after them
