Another fine day afloat yesterday, albeit a bit blustery in the northerly wind.

Mike O’Gorman coming out the eventual winner on the first day of our June Species competition sponsored by Pure Fishing, day two has 3 spaces available 28th June!
Can you beat Mikes 66 points total and steal away the Shakespeare Agility Tipster and PENN Spinfisher reel prize from Mikes grasp?

With big hounds and huss the main targets of the day, thankfully Wobby Shark Savers were also kept active with their tagging

Frustrating day afloat today, started on hounds with a dozen landed, far from the numbers enjoyed recently.
Drifting we managed a mixture of wrasse and pollack, with the odd coalie and codling.

The Deeps disappointed, with dogfish all our reward for some great effort.

    I blame killer whales! Lol

Still, some nice fish landed and a few laughs along our way, a few photos below

Superb day last Thursday aboard ‘My Way 2’.

Smashed the long standing boat record of 48 with 74 hounds between five of us in little over 5hrs fishing!

Topped off with Dave Barham landing his second biggest hound at 23lb 8oz – all on lure rods and 6-12lb rods. Superb fishing and great fun.

Our second day we headed around the coast in search of rays and huss, again we managed to hook into plenty.

Look out for a series of articles in forth coming issued of Sea Angler magazine.

After a slow start the hounds turned up today with us managing to boat 35.

Marks 18lber the biggest of the day so far, but having won yesterday’s prize Mark is ineligible for today’s, thus Neil with his 14lb 4oz smoothie takes top spot leading into this evenings session.

Lovely evening session today with a further 15 hounds to the boat. A good few doubles, with in form Mark Dolben taking the largest once again at 16lb.

Having already won yesterday, next in line and winner of Tuesdays Pure Fishing Smoothhound Challenge is Neil Avery, with his 14lber from the day sail

46 smoothhounds landed on the first day of our Pure Fishing Smoothhound Challenge.

Plenty of hounds around the 8lb mark and a few into double figures.

Mark Dolben currently leading with 15lb 4oz.

Harder work the evening with only 7 hounds landed but double the amount dropped.

Strong north winds not helping our cause. Handful of doubles landed 11 to 12lb

Sdeff wanted her first ever ray today, happy to report mission accomplished, even if Minns tangled and tried to shake it off.

Another glorious day afloat, main targets rays and huss, we managed to find a good few too.

Tried for a few tope in the afternoon, but nothing doing. Dogs and more huss.

All in another good fun day afloat

    May 2018 by Gethyn Owen

We had a hard day afloat yesterday, the forecasted 12 to 18knots developed into 32 knots of southerly wind. All safe in the bay, but Fishing was sketchy with dogs huss and Whiting be mainstay our out catches.

The forecast today stuck to plan and with light winds we were rewarded with some great fishing.

The deeps produced tope, spurdogs and huss with the drifting offering some good size pollack and wrasse.

I won’t mention the one that got away, would have been the biggest cod landed on My Way ( currently 6lb no monster I know but the port isn’t renowned for large cod ). To the surface, but sadly spat the hook just as the net was being lowered, no it wasn’t my fault
