The Thames is teeming with vast shoals of whiting, pretty big ones for the Thames with 3 at a time common.
Also some lovely dabs and the ever present dogfish.
The odd codling being reported but I haven’t seen any !
Still a few nice Thornback Rays about so well worth a go. -

Fishing has gone mad with huge shoals of whiting moved in.
Dogfish , bass and skate still being caught and now possible chance of cod. -

Been a while since I posted a report.
Boat suffered a starter motor breakdown and lost a couple of weekends as a result.
Back out last weekend and found plenty of bass, Thornback Rays and smoothounds. Also a few whiting have appeared.
Fingers crossed the cod make an appearance this year -

Fishing is superb at the moment. Plenty of smoothounds and bass. The Thornback Rays have disappeared at the moment and dogfish numbers have dropped.

Loads of Thornback Rays now in river and first hounds now starting to show.

Fished a lower river mark on Sunday with a group of youngsters and hit a large number a Thornback Rays. These were mainly large females and smaller males. All taken on fish baits on short rigs presented uptide in shallow water..
Despite what people say they fight well on light gear and and are fun to catch.
From now on the numbers will increase and we should soon see the first of the hounds plus bass. -

Loads of Thornback Rays are now invading the Thames estuary.
Only short trip from mooring.

Wind has stopped play past few weeks so not much to report.
I have heard a few codling showing and plenty of whiting, dabs and dogfish to keep the interest.

The fishing has been pretty slow in August and should improve from now till xmas.
Plenty of bass about and still a few hounds.
