Fishing the last week has been up and down, we have seen some cracking fish boated, towards the end of the festival Keith Bywater from Rotherham hooked something very good, and the way it was stripping line and lunging I had an incling it was a Halibut from the start, we set the drag fairly light as keith fought with is fish.

I was hoping for a big one, but not this time sadly, i went 15lb on the boat scales, not a monster but equally a fish of a lifetime as not many are caught. well done Keith!

The spring tides we have just experienced (biggest of the year) have given mixed results with us having to work hard for our fish, some days better than others, the better anglers still leaving with decent bags. never the less still finding a few for the rest of the lads. It should improve as the tides ease again

A great day out with Rich & Dean AKA Team Mistress.
As always- 110% effort and the anglers were rewarded with a great days lure fishing.
Lots of cod hitting the shads & sidewinders with plenty of times when everyone on the boat was into a fish.
A bona fide example of a good days shadding out of Whitby.
I kept dropping a few fish off but still took 9 fine cod home and returned a few too.
For knowledge, enthusiasm and willingness to help- few boats match the lads on Mistress and I would recommend them to any angler looking for a good days boat fishing on the Yorkshire Coast.

This weekend has seen some of the best fishing for a while here at Whitby.

Both sunday and monday the lads onboard managed well over 100 cod each day between them. all on shads.

There were many thrown back for another day too which is always encouraging to see. nothing big, all between 2lb and 6lb giving some great sport on light gear.

lets hope this is the sign of things to come once the algae clears properly

Pictured are the lads at the end of the day on bank holiday monday with a few of their fish - well done men!

The fishing is still spot on here at Whitby, when we can get out!

We worked a few marks yesterday inshore and out on the 20 mile.

Squid and shads taking the fish. Plenty of Ling and Cod into double figures for our lads, the best cod was just under 13lb for Chris Toon. The majority of the fish falling between 6lb and 9lb.

Another good day for us here at Whitby.

The inshore fishing has been good recently, today no different. the lads fished hard on a big tide using bait and shads and managed to amass 60+ cod, ling and pollock to keep. There were a good few undersized fish placed back to grow bigger.

The majority of the fish recently have been in the 4lb - 7lb bracket, the signs are looking great for the forthcoming season.
