Fishing has really sparked into life with more smoothounds, bass and reports of the first mackerel. Also plenty of nice dabs showing.

Fishing is improving all the time, good numbers of thornbacks everywhere, more smoothounds showing and reports of first bass. Also some cracking spurdogs around, best at 15 lb caught by Steve Turner.

The fishing has really picked up with settled weather and lots of good thornbacks showing in all areas.

The fishing has improved with a big influx of skate, we caught 40 on tues from an offshore mark and i had a report from Lester on Seawatch who had similar numbers inshore yesterday, the cod are still up in the water but there are less herring around and we should soon start to see the cod back on the ground.

The last week has seen a steady influx of cod with some fish reported at over 8 lb. There are more skate showing in all areas and plenty of whiting .
Prospects are superb with our best winter coming up in over 20 years.

Great news guys-Here come the cod !
The last few days have seen an influx of cod to all areas with a good showing of cracking fish between 4-5 lb. These fish are really early so should be our best season for a long time. Tight lines. -

This last week has seen the best smoothound fishing all summer with plenty of big fish showing, Erin caught his first ever hound with me on Monday at 19 lb !, best reported at nearly 24lb, several more bass and plenty of thornbacks.
Prospects are excellent. Tight lines !. -

Fantastic sport on the big hounds today, 40 plus with most over 10lb, best at 14lb. Last 2 dates this week on good tides and settled weather tuesday and thursday.

After a quiet couple of weeks the fishing has picked up well this week with increasing numbers of most species. We have also seen a few mackerel for the first time and the fishing always improves when they show up.
There have been some big smoothies showing up in the shallow water, best reported at over 18 lb last week and plenty of double figure fish, most of these fish are taking hermit or peeler crab as well as ragworm. All should be returned alive as they have young inside.
There are a few more bass showing up with best on my boat at 7 lb on Friday. This fish was a personal best for Romford angler Paul Darcy and fell for a rag and squid cocktail.
There are a lot more thornbacks around this week with a good showing of 3-6 lb fish in most of the offshore areas, these fish will probably be around all summer now, best baits are fish, squid and ragworm.
Inshore has been hard with most of the fish moving well offshore, however as we get into late summer the thornbacks and first whiting will start to show up again and the piers and shore marks will start to produce again.
Prospects are excellent, there are reports of more big smoothies showing along with thornbacks and bass, if the water stays clear offshore there should be mackerel to be had. -

Fishing has been fantastic this week with big numbers of cod and plenty of thornbacks, dont leave it too late to get amongst the cod. Tight lines.
