The weekend 18th/19th May fishing saw Saturday on the skerries bank fishing for plaice with over 65 fish being caught by a group that have never done any fishing before so all caught plaice with the biggest being 2.5lb.

Sunday Spot On! was out wrecking with a few fish here and there and staring the day with ling and cod, moving wrecks during the day we were picking up fish and then we hit whiting madness with sometimes 30 fish coming per drift!
A few more moves saw us picking up some nice Pollock up to 15lb and then we hit lots more cod with a few doubles and pictured is Jamie Smith with his biggest of 2 fish weighing over 20lb's each.

A good weekends fishing all round with great company, many thanks guys and look forward to seeing you on board again soon.

4th and 5th of May saw the return of Milnrow sea anglers for there second trip of 2013.
It was Brixhams Pirate Festival over this weekend so we got in the mood by flying the 'Jolly Roger' flag for the festivities.
8 anglers made the long journey down to fish on Spot On.

Saturday saw a windy day on the skerries but still Spot On managed 75 plaice along with Dabs, Bull huss, grey gurnard, whiting, dogfish and herring.
Best Plaice fell to Paul Whiting topping out at 3lb.

Sunday was a day we would like many more of with flat calm seas and we did not waste it, travelling out to the wrecks and the first cod's of 2013 for Spot On and I am sure not the last, smaller Pollock up to the 7/8lb mark and ling up to 15lb made up the day with more whiting and pouting, over the weekend the lads managed 12 different species between them.

I would like to thank the Milnrow lads for some great fun and bringing the sunshine instead of the snow with them this time.

Finally a weekend with half sensible weather and Spot On was making the most of it.

Saturday Spot On was wrecking and found lots of Pollock with the biggest going to David Inns of 13lb 10oz.
Plenty of other nice fish around 8/9lb mark.
We did have to search around a few wrecks to find the fish here and there.

Sunday saw Spot On venturing to the Skerries bank for the first time in 2013 in search in plaice after I decided to cancel last weekends plaice festival trips due to bad weather and good job I did as reports from fellow anglers tell of 1 fish caught on the charter boats that did risk the weather.

There were plenty of boats out and we stopped short of all of them over a little ridge and within 5 minutes the first plaice was coming aboard, this continued up to 1pm with double braces also and good fun with the biggest fish just hitting 2lb, throw in some dogfish, whiting and a Dab it was a good enjoyable day with everyone catching plenty.

Easterly winds have been around for far to long now although Spot On had Milnrow sea anglers on for a weekends wrecking this weekend 2nd & 3rd March.

Saturday saw us moving around having a few fish here and there and then on the last wreck we hit in to feeding time with some great Pollock and whiting caught and some even better ones lost. everyone was getting in on the action with great fish from 6lb up to 13lb 8oz.

Sunday saw us heading out again into an even fresher easterly wind, once again we got to the first wreck, and Spot On was Spot On again with short quick drifts bringing more Pollock with again great action all around the boat, biggest today was 13lb.
As the wind picked up we searched around for a wreck we could get a nice drift on but the wind pushing a force 6 was too much and the line angle was lost so we headed home to get in port at 1630.

All in a all for the conditions a good couple days on the fine sport that these Pollock offer and thanks to all the guys of Milnrow sea anglers for braving the elements and kept the reels winding all day.
Hope to see you all again soon

It has been a while since the weather has allowed Spot On! to get out over the weekends.

Weather was fair to say fresh with westerly force 4/5.

The day was slow and we had to search around the wrecks finding pollock and loads of pout and eventualy some bass.

All in all a hard days work but worth while in the end after finding the fish we went searching for.

Spot On! is now taking bookings for 2013 and starting channel island trips, 3,4,5 day trips available.

After the wind had gone we had to wait 24 hours for the waters to settle and the fish to begin feeding once again.
Spot On! headed out wrecking on Sunday 19th August in calm clear waters and after a few slow producing drifts we found a wreck that was fishing well.
We stayed here for most of the day and caught some lovely summer fish including Pollock up to 16lb 8oz and many more over double figures, some nice Cod up to 12lb, Ling, channel whiting and of course pout!
As the tide turned we had some more fun as the Bass came out to play and 3 nice fish were landed.
On the way home we stopped at one more wreck and we hit into some more nice fish with Cod and Pollack being larger than the other wrecks.

A good Day with the dolphins, great fishing, nice weather and the curious Sunfish was a nice surprise to see!

Thanks to the guys on board for being good banter and fun.
    See you again soon.

Thanks to the weather man and the MET office for again getting the forecast wrong!
But we braved the weather and headed out wrecking, with conditions far from perfect we still managed a good haul, with plenty of prime pollock up to 11lb and some nice Cod up to 14lb, a lone channel whititng and some pouting made up the days catch.

I would just liked to say thanks to those who were on board and for putting up with the weather and battling the elements. But hey thats what 'summer' fishing is all about.
All in all a good catch for the day.
