Spot On has recently completed its third channel island trip of the year to Guernsey and again with some great results.

Day 1 Cod on the target list as we hit the mid channel wrecks on the way across and the lads did very well, all taking great fish on a selection on Sidewinder lures and with a couple of hour's filleting we had a steady steam of 17 knots into St Peter Port.

Day 2 saw us head out to the many banks that surround the islands in search or Turbot and Brill.
Again the lads fished well and had a steady day with lots of small fish being landed and returned alive to grow bigger and a couple of nice Bass to finish the day off we headed back to the fantastic little Italian restaurant 'La Perla' for some amazing well earned home cooked food.

Day 3 the lads decided to target the Turbot and Brill again so we headed back out to one of the banks and with some fresh bait we were in straight away to some much better fish. this continued until it was time to reel up and make the 70 mile steam home.

Pictured is Sam and Tim with a Brace of fine Turbot which they caught at the same time.

A big thank you again for the lads for making the trip enjoyable and look forward to seeing you again next year for more of the same.

Thanks also for my sponsor SIDEWINDER lures for providing yet again some killer lures for the wrecking on the way across.

Spot On is Brixham's and the south wests premier charter boat and with 2016 diary already open and filling fast please contact me to book your trip.

Wrecking continues to be superb for Spot On of Brixham, Devon as the catches of Cod this year are amongst the most I've ever seen.

Most fish are averaging around 4lb-7lb and are making for some great sport. A few larger specimens have been netted but it seems difficult just to get through the smaller ones, a few bass, some nice summer Pollock and few whiting make up the other species being landed during recent wrecking trips.

Pictured is a few fine Cod landed on one drift on a recent trip.

Remember Spot On is Brixham's only catamaran and is in a class of her own being, the fastest largest charter boat in the port and consistently bringing great catches for my anglers and with the photos to prove it.

I would like to thank my amazing sponsor, SIDEWINDER lures, for providing me with the best lures on the market today which have so far this year taken some amazing fish.

2016 Diary is now open and is already beginning to look healthy so if you would like to book a trip please feel free to contact me.

    May 2015 by Ross Parham

Spot On has completed just 2 channel island trips so far this year, but I am pleased to say with great results.
Some prime turbot and Brill have been coming on board from the various banks around Guernsey, the biggest turbot going 11lb 6oz and the biggest brill hitting the net was 6lb 8oz.
I tried a favourite bream mark of mine to see if there were any resident bream around and although not many we did have a few, some nice black bream and a rare couches bream, along with gurnards, garfish, wrasse and doggies.

The wrecking also is still in full swing with Spot On again finding a another wreck loaded with Ling and with 8 rods and 8 ling on most drifts we soon had enough and moved on.
Plenty of small cod around and some nice summer Pollock make up the other species landed on recent wrecking trips.

A nice surprise was yet another novice angler on his first ever boat trip and using a hire rod hooked a beauty of a Bass on a rhubarb and custard 4" sidewinder hitting the scales at 13lb 8oz, not bad for the first bass of 2015.

I have not had any trips to the skerries recently, but I have a couple of trips coming up, so I will report again very soon.

The bookings have gone mad and I have opened my diary for 2016 as I now have a 2016 tide table

Remember there is only one premier charter boat in Brixham and she is the only Catamaran and I see still the only one who keeps up to date with catch photos and reports, even know I always seem to be at sea.

If you want a trip please see spot-on-charters.co.uk or call 07878668662.

June again sees Spot On booked every day and more Guernsey trips so I will keep you posted when I am next to the computer again.

Although we have yet again had some awesome fish this month, I just had to put a picture of
Lucas with his 13lb 8oz Bass, well done that man.

SPOT ON IS ALSO SPONSORED BY SIDEWINDER LURES SO NOW THE PREMIER CHARTER BOAT ALSO HAVE THE PREMIER LURES TO MATCH AND WITH NEW RANGES BEING TRIED AND TESTED ON BOARD PLEASE ASK FOR DETAILS.

Wrecking continues to be very productive with one day rewarding the anglers hard work with over 60 ling coming to the boat along with more cod than Pollock, the cod are small with the biggest going 9lb so no pictures yet but things are looking up for the arrival of some bigger cod soon.
The Pollock have now all but spawned and are feeding up very well and are hard hitting which is making for some good sport on light tackle.

The skerries have been fishing superb for this time of year with the 3 consecutive days plaice numbers as follows.
    Day 1 = 102 plaice. Day 2 = 184 plaice. Day 3 = 125 Plaice.
These numbers are summer tally's so this again shows we could be in for a great summer on the banks which are a short steam for Spot On from Brixham, other species included lots of doggies, tub gurnard, red gurnard, grey gurnard and a small turbot.

    ******************************************* NEWS FLASH ***********************************************************
SPOT ON IS PROUD TO ANNOUNCE IT IS NOW A SIDEWINDER SPONSORED BOAT.

    Apr 2015 by Ross Parham

Friday the 10th April saw Spot On's first trip of the year to the famous Skerries bank just around the corner from Brixham and we enjoyed a nice steam on a lovely spring/summer morning and although a misty start to the day it cleard to be a lovely day with a gentle breeze.

The anglers were anxious and so was I, with this being the first trip of the year to target Plaice for 2015.
The hooks were baited and various weird and wonderful, not to mention colourful rigs were dropped into the sea to tempt some spring Plaice and it was not long before the first red spotted flatty of 2015 were landed.

The fishing was steady and then died off over slack water, but a few drifts later we were again Spot On with the drifts and bringing in lots more nice spring Plaice, most of the fish went back and only a few larger ones kept for the table

Total numbers of Plaice for the day was a nice 70 flat fish landed along with a couple dogfish and gurnard, top rod was 13 Plaice which for this time of year is very good.
The fish are still a little on the thin size but at least they are there on the banks and will be feeding up so we should see larger specimens landed as the summer months draw closer.
We managed a few nice Plaice up to 2lb and even a nice double hook up and they seem to be in really clean condition.

Pictured is Andy with his Brace of Plaice.

Bait was supplied by Spot On fishing in Preston/Paignton and again was some great ragworm as usual which I believe made the difference with the top bait being ragworm tipped with prawn.

    Apr 2015 by Ross Parham

The wind finally gave us a break for the first time in April 2015 so Spot On was full steam ahead out to the mid channel wrecks to continue where we left off in March.

The fishing again was superb with some great sized Pollock coming to the net and when the tide eased we put on a few baits to try for some Ling, we managed a fair few ling in a short period but unfortunately there were only a few over the 20lb mark to get a photo as I would be there all day if I photographed everything!

Most of the Pollock and Ling have now spawned which is great news for the future stocks but bad news if your after that 20lb'er for another year, although we have been having some great scraps from the male fish of 9/12lb mark.

April will see the wrecking continue and see a few more Cod in the catches as the month goes on.
It is also the time Spot On heads up to the shambles for a 3 day Weymouth trip in search of Turbot, Brill and Plaice.
The end of April is also Spot On's first Guernsey trip of the year which I am already looking forward to.

The skerries is fishing well for the start of the season and we are heading there Friday 10th April for Spot On's first trip to the famous banks.

Dates are filling very fast I have already been asked for 2016 dates! so book early or grab a last minute space and come and try the south wests premier charter boat with catches others simply dream of! and of course a fun, enjoyable day on board goes without saying.

Pictured is the biggest Ling to date for April which was caught by Steve Ford and a nice specimen of 26lb 10oz.

Remember there is only one catamaran in Brixham and there is only one Spot On! the only boat with up to date catches, reports, and photos as seeing is believing.

Local tackle shop Spot On fishing in Preston / Paignton is also getting even more stocked by the day and is continuing to grow with great local support and with the deals on the great tackle we use on board its hard to see it will do anything else.
Great fresh and frozen bait and well worth a visit, much more stock than others for wrecking and sea fishing.

    Wow!
What a few days we have been having out of Brixham wreck fishing on board Spot On!

The fishing has been simply fanatic with superb quality and quantity of Pollock and Ling with some of the very best wrecking trips I have had the pleasure of skippering and enjoying these great days with some really great anglers on board.

Although the weather has been tricky at times I have had to use my skills to be 'Spot On' and get the anglers lures and baits in the right places and of course the right wrecks also helps.

Catches have also seen a fair few small codling which hopefully means we may have a good year on the Cod as this is the earliest I have caught Cod in the last couple of years.

A few drifts on the skerries on the way home also produced a few Plaice which is good to see, so in April we should be into the start of another great season on the banks, to add to the great fishing that is available from Brixham on board Spot On.

Remember Spot On is Brixham's and the south wests premier charter boat with consistent results and catching fish others simply dream of as the pictures show, all the photos you see on my website and here are no older than 2013, not bad considering 2013 was just weekend charters only!

April should see the wreck fishing continue well with Pollock, Ling and whiting being the main target species but we will start to see more Cod catches as the month goes on. The skerries will also be a target for the spring Plaice and other summer species shouldn't be far behind.

The first of the many trips to the channel islands (Guernsey) will also take place at the end of April and I cant wait to get stuck into the summer!

My calendar is filly very fast but please feel free to contact and I will do my best to get you out on the water and experience the best fishing available in the English channel.

Spot On Fishing is just 10 minutes from Brixham and has a large selection of quality tackle and bait that we use on board to catch these great fish and is well worth a visit.
It stocks Sea fishing tackle only and is well known for quality fresh and frozen bait.

    Mar 2015 by Ross Parham

The weather has not been kind to us in March so far so it was nice to get out for are first and only trip of March 2015 so far and again we were greeted with some brilliant Pollock fishing.

It was clear this was going to be a good day from the off with the guys brining in plenty of decent fish every drift, after a few more drifts instead of staying on the one wreck all day pulling in Pollock after Pollock we decided we needed to have a look for some bigger specimens so we went steaming off here there and everywhere but all wrecks were producing similar size Pollock and although we had a fair few double figured fish the average size was 6-8lb's, Regular angler 'Bill the snag' managed the best fish of the day which tipped the scales at 15lb 8oz.

My thanks goes out to the guys for making the trip enjoyable and certainly one of the best 'catching' days in terms of quantity that I have had on board Spot On.

2015 Dates are filling very fast and I think this shows testament to 'Spot On' being Brixham's and Torbay's number one charter boat.

Pictured is Spot On cruising across the bay at speed!

Spot On Fishing, tackle shop in Paignton is just 10 minutes from the boat and are proud to announce great deals on, Snowbee, Sidewinders, Blackrock, Fish zone, AWOL lures, Daiwa and many more as well as having great fresh and frozen bait.

    Feb 2015 by Ross Parham

Spot On was out wrecking again in search of Big winter Pollock on Sunday 15th February, the winds were due to ease as the day went on so we headed out to the mid channel wrecks looking for monsters of the deep.

We were greeted straight away with many fish hitting the net and the size of the fish were a healthy 7/10lb mark and all were in great clean condition.

After a few more drifts I asked the guys if they wanted to look for some bigger specimens, the lads said yes they had plenty for the table so we headed out for some larger specimens and we were not disappointed. The fish started coming in again fast and furious with some great hard runs from these sporting fish and many were dropped off due to the drags being set to high.

We did however manage some good sized specimens with the biggest going 18lb 6oz for regular angler Barry.
Barry was on fire all day and could not put a foot wrong but when his friend next to him pulled in a nice Ling on the lure of 23lb 8oz Barry was beaten for the biggest fish.

Top lures consisted of AWOL blacks, AWOL rhubarb and custard and the sidewinder rattleback's.

As forecast, the wind dropped and we had a nice steady 16 knots steam home filleting as we went with only a few fish left to do when we arrived back in Brixham.

A big thank you for to the lads for making it a fun trip as always and thanks for continuing to support Myself on board Spot On and enjoying the great fishing that Brixham has to offer.

Brixham's and the south wests premier charter boat with great all year round catches that are unrivalled by any other charter boat in Brixham.

Spot On is now back in the water and continuing where we left off last year, with already some great catches with loads of fine winter Pollock coming to the net and a fair few double figure hard fighting ones in the mix.

Average stamp of fish is some high quality fish of 6/9lb's, the elusive 20lber is down there somewhere and we will try our best to catch a few over the next few weeks.

Top fish so far is a fine specimen of 16lb 10oz for Plymouth angler Mark Wellington.
