Hi chaps, we were out yesterday (Tuesday 22/3/16) what a great day, not only did the sun shine from the time we left Bradwell but until the time we got back.
We had some great chefs on board, and they brought with them home made Indian spicy Sag... emmmmm..!! wonderful, but these guys are not of Indian persuasion but as English as you and me... just great cooks, and there was more than enough to go round for all 9 on board ...
But..... back to fishing... it was a spring tide and it sure did run hard, but we found the best of the fish was in the best of the water (in the deeper water) when we went up shallow they just had not pushed up as you might expect, so we pulled the anchor and dropped 300 yards to the North off the edge, and bang..!! there they were again, and we fished the tide right up to the top, and while waiting for the ebb we did some Clay pigeon shooting and the slack water time just flew bye, and before I knew it the tide had turned and one of the guys who was fishing at the bow, was screaming for the net...!!!! then it was gun away, and on with fishing....lol I'm not say we had some really bad shooters on the boat...!! but all I will say, is that many of the Clays went back in the water totally unharmed,,,, lol
There was a good mix of big and small Thorn Back Rays, and a good mix of male, and female fish and some were kept for the table, and some were retuned, but I leave that up to the angler to decide, I only step in if the size looks too small then there is no discussion.... it goes back, but to be fair most of the guys only keep a couple each for eating and the rest go back,

Well we were out yesterday (Tuesday 22/3/16) and had a good day, the sun shone from the time we left until the time we got back, and a nice lot of Thornback Ray and big Whiting in the mix.
We were amazed with such big spring tides, and hard run, that the best of the fishing remained in the deeper water, usually the fish tend to go up shallow, out of the hard run, but when we went shallow.... nothing..!! so we dropped back into the deeper, and there they were.
There was a good mix of sizes, and a good mix of male and female fish, some were kept for the table and some returned, but that is a decision that the angler has to make I only intervene if the fish looks under size then without discussion the fish goes back.

Just putting out there...
We are thinking of doing a half day on Vanishing Point-2, Friday 1st April, when we have those neap tides, and just doing half a day Clay Shooting in the estuary.... We do now have a 20 Bore available on the day if required for younger shooters, or ladies who prefer a light load..!! no pun intended ...!!

Well the weekend was interesting, with ENE winds forecast, and huge tides to 6.3 mtrs, we were fortunate that the low waters were around 0830 to 0900 over the weekend, so we had wind and tide together nearly all day.... result...!!
On Saturday we pushed 22 miles East from Bradwell and fished a mark I have not fished for several years, fishing was not easy but a lovely day light winds, and wall to wall sunshine.. then Jez Spencer from
Gt Yarmouth started off the proceedings with a decent Skate, then we caught all around the boat, I think we boated around 20 Roker and a few Whiting.
Sunday 13th March the wind was picking up to around 24 mph again ENE but we got there at low water and although a bit more of a lump in the water, we managed to boat about 18 Roker with Troy Botterell kicking off the proceedings and more followed from all around the boat. phew I was running from the stern, to the bow...(got that right Troy??) but another decent day in what was not the best conditions..
Yesterday Monday 14th March was another day of ENE winds which was blowing at 31 mph, and again we left at low water and steamed 25 miles east of Bradwell, and fished all day in relative comfort and the boys from Newmarket had a good day on the Roker fishing, but it has to be noted, that we caught more fish yesterday on whole squid, it out fished Herring !! while over the weekend you couldn't go wrong with Herring strange how things change.??
Ok guys will report back after the weekend as we are not out now until then.... unless anyone wants to makes up a trip then give me a call.... tight lines...!! -

We had a cracking day today plenty of good quality fish, and very calm conditions and endless sunshine, a bit different from what some of the scaremongers were trying to forecast earlier in the week, and as I said ... you cannot say on Tuesday what the weather is going to do Friday or Saturday... you have to wait until the night before basically most of the time you could lose so many trips if people start posting screen shots of XC weather on a Monday which is invariably wrong..!!! forecasting doom and gloom for the coming week...!! the BBC weather is, these days as good as it gets, it's bang up to date at 6.30 pm every evening and then you have a good idea what the following day is going to be like.. these photos are just some of the fish we had inshore today (Friday 4/3/16)..... you don't have to go miles offshore, in fact you will more than likely go straight past the bulk of the fish..!! ...Any way sadly we are not out until Monday now bit of a slip up with the diary...Ooops..! but with the weather forecast for tomorrow and Sunday you will be fine if you stay North... but wrap up warm it will be bloody cold.!!!!!! Tight lines...
