    Hi Guys
we just had 12 novice angler on today, and they were just so pleased at the fact most had never been on a boat before, let alone fished from one..!!! but under the careful guidance of me and Nicola, they listened well and learned to wait for the bites, and they had over 40 Thornback rays and a lovely 4lbs Codling, so everyone went home happy..... just how we like it.

Just a foot not: they returned most of the fish back to fight another day, fantastic..!!

    Tight lines.....!

Bummer...!!!! cancelled today as the weather was forecast to be raining all day, Easterly 25mph so wind against tide basically a crap day...

I got up this morning looked out my window to sunshine, a 10 mph Easterly, (not too bad) and now they say we wont get any rain until around 1600 this afternoon ..!!! what are they on..!!

I had two guys coming over from Belgium to-day who were so eager to fish on the mighty Vanishing Point-2 as they have heard so much about her and was looking forward to stepping aboard.

Oh well, we will see what tomorrow brings, hopefully find some of those big Hounds..!!!

    Hi Guys
Well I said I would report on today's exploratory trip looking for big hounds if they were around to an undisclosed mark, and boy did we find them..!!!

We had 45 hounds to 13lbs Codling to 5lbs, and Skate to 8lbs, yep a real good day with the target species found.

I wont go on about it as it's late and it's been a long day, but I will start to sort out some prices to take parties to this Holy grail of hound fishing, as it is a fair way the diesel cost will be an added cost but with the speed of Vanishing Point-2 if we push the engines a bit harder (obviously using quite a bit more fuel) we can get to the mark in around an hour, travelling at 25 knots, so not much chance of being followed..!!!

    Talk soon guys....!!!!!

    Tight lines...!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi everyone, well I am going out tomorrow to an undisclosed mark to see if the big hounds have arrived..!! if they are there I would not be surprised to see fish of over 20lbs.. it is a strange mark really as there is not much else lives there, so it is sh**t or bust, that's why me and Nicola do these little trial trips alone.

But if the fish are there then we will let you know on here, and if people want to go there it will be slightly more money to cover the distance we have to cover i.e. Diesel cost but hopefully well worth it...

Still lots of Skate coming in and more bass showing, not loads, but a few.

The water temperature is slow to rise as the weather has remained cold, so there is still some decent Codling to be had, a friend of mine John Rawle had around 7 Codling on Sunday so just shows, if you target them you can still get them....

Ok guys I will report back after tomorrows research trip to see what's out there..????

    Tight lines..!!!!

Well, Saturday didn't disappoint...!!! the wind was blowing at over 30 mph all day, but fortunately we had wind and tide together for half the day and the afternoon session OK as we managed to get some shelter from a lovely sand bank exposed by low water..! We had a fair few Thornback's heaps of Doggies, the odd Codling still about, and one of the boats fishing close by had a few Smoothounds, so that was good to hear.

On Sunday, we got up to be greeted with very little wind..!!! and when we got to the boat the sea was virtually flat,..!! hah ha,,!! I thought as I scrambled through my little black book to see where we were going to go on these relatively small dropping tides..? well I had a plan already in my mind, and God I wish I had gone with my gut feeling, but no, I went with notes I had made over the years, and after stopping on the mark which was my gut feeling, then decided to push on another 3,5 mile East with big expectations...... DISASTER I fell flat on my face, after two and a half hour fishing all we had to show for it was 1 skate and a shed load of Doggies.

So with a sinking feeling I asked the lads, who I must say were fantastic..!!! to pull in their lines and went back 3.5 miles to the West, to the original mark I was going to stop on at first..!! and within 5 minutes we had the first of many Skate on the boat, so I am glad to report we went from Zero to hero in one move..!!

So sometimes it doesn't matter how good you are, or you think you are..? I think it right to be honest and sometimes say...hey..!! I got it wrong, then go about digging deep and try you best to put things right.

We had a Romanian chap out on the boat, who last month brought a beach caster with him, and I politely told him the rod was too big for the boat, and needed to bring a smaller one next time...!! well yesterday he did, it was overall 18" inches long.....lol but he had a regular size boat rod as well, but still put out his little rod for a laugh, and bugger me, he had two lovely Skate on it, he was so funny.

Another chap on the boat was Mark, a man after my own heart, likes to try new and different methods to try and catch fish, and this was never more evident than yesterday he tried some fish pellets with a special cent and again he caught a couple of Skate on them..!!! well done Mark good result.

Ok guys with the hounds starting to show now, and we have had the first of the Bass now things are looking up for hopefully a good summer of fishing.

As Nicola and I only started fishing with our new large Catamaran and opened our bookings diary a few weeks ago, we still have quite a few dates to fill, so if you read our reviews kind customers have posted, and fancy a trip on this amazing vessel, please call and have a chat......

Well,.. we were out yesterday, it was not the easiest day we ever had, with the wind once again blowing at 24 mph SW, so wind against a small flood tide. so I opted to go very shallow so we would lay more to wind than tide and drop in 10 feet, really looking for early Bass, as we had 10 packs of Rag worm and Lug worm that a friend of mine left on my boat, (thanks Barry) and no I didn't charge the boys for them, I didn't pay for them, so I was not going to charge my lads, .... so they loaded up with worm baits, and a few small Whiting were biting, but for myself, I was interested to see if there was any Skate up in the shallows, so I baited up with whole Squid, and boy oh boy..!!! I had 4 good size Skate, in 20 minutes so the guys changed their baits and we enjoyed some good shallow water Skate action in comfort.

Once the tide turned, (around 10.30 am), I went about 4 miles east into deeper water, but we only got one or two, small Skate, so we upped anchor, and moved close in and bang there they were, and now with tide and wind together, we enjoyed a lovely settled afternoons fishing, and the lucky boys had the whole of this massive 51 foot Catamaran (Vanishing Point-2) all to them self's, just three of them plus me and Nicola, what a lovely day we all had.

Not out today, so tomorrow, we will do much of the same I think, and see how the day pans out.

Well I hope you all have a great weekend, whatever professional charter boat you are out on, it is nice to see so many boats busy, it means our sea fishing is in safe hand with all you anglers keeping us all busy.... I am sure I talk for all of us charter Skipper's when I say ...Thank you for supporting our local charter fleet........ Tight Lines..!!!!

Hi guys, well we had a lovely day today, wind at last went SW 4 to 5 but didn't cause us any trouble..!

We had a slow start at first being plagued with the dreaded Doggies, so much so , that even though I would like to have stayed on the mark, it was impossible to keep the dogfish away from the bait.

So I up stumps and moved 3.5 miles East and got straight into the Codling, and as the tide eased away, the Thornbacks came on thick and fast, the out of the blue, a lovely 6 lbs Bass hit a whole squid and came fighting all the way to the net...

We are off again tomorrow, so we shall see if we can repeat today's superb action, no reason to suppose we cant, and once again the boys were absolutely blown away with our new boat... Cheers Guys...

Hi everyone, we are thinking of running a woman's angling day on Vanishing Point-2,.. and I will be there purely to get the boat to the fishing mark which My lovely Wife Nicola ( a qualified licensed skipper herself) will pick....!!

Over the years it has to be said when you have ladies on the boat, they are bloody hard to beat..!! we even had a group of women, all great anglers, calling themselves.... The Up-tide Hookers...... they were brilliant.

If we have enough interest, then we will run a ladies day maybe once a week.

Nicola my wife is often seen in various national sea fishing magazines, and Dave Barham who now owns, and runs Boat Fishing Monthly is a great champion of the female angler.

Well there is still a lot of Codling locally, and a lot of Thornback Rays within a short distance, so lots of fishing time.....

Ok guys if you fancy this new idea.... give us a call, Nicola will be waiting...!!! NO DRAG ARTIST PLEASE...lol

Looking good still on the Codling front, reckon we will get another week out of it.
Thornbacks are arriving in ever increasing numbers so this weeks good weather should see some good catches..
