Well Saturday the wind blew just for a change..!! NE 25 to 30 mph, but with a flooding tide we sat nicely into the tide catching Codling, and Thornback Rays with regularity, and at high water, we moved a bit further West to the mouth of the River Blackwater, and after a little while when the tide got away we had more Codling in the afternoon, so the boys did well, and have vowed to make a return visit, as they said they have fished all around the country, but never, ever, had they been on a boat that had a cabin like a Lear jet, and a bridge deck like a 747...!! but what do you expect for nearly 3/4's of a million pounds..!!! only the best.
so if you want to try us??
just call us!!!
and go to sea on the finest charter vessel that the UK has to offer, at no more money than most other charter boats costing 1/10th of the Vanishing Point-2.

Fishing today was tough......!! NE 4 to 5 not bad when it was wind and tide together skate and Codling came to the boat, but when the tide turned we moved to a more sheltered position, and we caught more Codling but in the end the wind was the winner we just couldn't turn the boat against the wind, but a good day was had by all, and the party have made another 4 bookings..!!!! yay so all good.

We had lots of wind at the weekend, and lots of fish as well ...!!! so no problem there.
Friday's party did well, and was good to catch up with old pals once again and boat lots of fish, my old mate Andy never stop making me laugh..... cheers mate lovely to see you, and Allen Tarrent we haven't seen for a couple of years since we have been away, but great to see him once again..
Saturdays party was down on numbers as I cocked up with two guys I thought were brining another two guys with them .... but no I got it wrong, and then another of my party just plain forgot he was on the trip, but was most apologetic, and is sending the cash anyway...(Thanks Chris) and an old mate that was a party of two at the last minute got called by his company to go to Paris France..!! so we only had 4 anglers on board but we didn't hold back as was expected... we went the distance it wasn't the parties fault we were short, and I will never hold back if my boat is not full..!!.
Sundays party with Mark Smith and pals, turned out good, we caught at every mark we went to, and with the predicted species on various marks..!! in the end the wind was blowing at 35 mph and we still sat there steady catching fish...... I must admit, i did feel a little seasick!!! ........ I was watching a little mono hull vessel cork screwing alarmingly at times, and was glad we were on a mighty Cat..!!! -

hi everyone, the weekend went well, with a shed-load of prime Codling boated..!!
It has to be said that most anglers lost a lot of fish until they got the hang of the bites....! but everyone on the boat caught more than enough fish.
Well I noticed the water temp was up again yesterday, so these little darlings will be getting ready to leave us,
So.. if you are going to get a last crack at them, you had better do it soon!!. weather it is with us on Vanishing Point-2... or, one of the other fine professional charter boats that operate with in the Blackwater area from either my port Bradwell, or West Mersea, or Brightlingsea, all of which can put you over the fish in a short time.
Ok guys we are looking for 1 or 2 people for tomorrows trip so if you fancy it just call and book you place.
Tight lines............... !!!

Well it wasn't a bad Easter weekend, and if you worked the fishing trips, timed with the tides so you had wind and tide together, even a 30 mph blow was no problem at all...!!
On Saturday, we had a whole bunch of our regular individuals from years gone by reunited, it was marvellous it was like we had never been away, the banter was flying (mostly at my expense) and the boys getting ready for another good fishing day with me and my wife Nicola.
So..... once on the fishing mark, which even against the hard run of the tide took just 45 minutes to reach, and all hooks baited, they were of..!!! within a couple of minutes the first of many fish swung over the gunnals, the landing net didn't stop all day, first I had the net then Nicola was shouting for the net, and so this went on all day...!!!! even over the slack water period, the Codling stopped, only to be replaced the the onslaught of Thorn-back Ray's, then once the tide turned to run again on ebb, the Codling were back...!!!!!! phew..!!! it was bloody hard work, but that is our job, eventually the guys just purely ran out of bait.
What a day, with all fish that were kept (we didn't keep them all) gutted and bagged, Vanishing Point-2 returned to her berth in Bradwell and after a good clean down, wheelhouse vacuumed, the boat was made ready for the next day..
These fish wont be here for much longer if the weather forecast is to be believed, with the weather predicted for temperatures to rise to around 70 degrees by the end of the week, this could spark the retreat of the Cod to leave...... that may not be a bad thing!! as like all things in life, everything needs to be done in moderation, and that includes giving the fish a rest, and moving onto other species.... the Codling have been hit hard over the last few months, so a rest is overdue in my opinion, and we will see the hopefully later this year with a few more pounds packed on over the summer period.!!
If you want to experience this outstanding Vessel .... Vanishing Point-2 you need to book your space, we have had many comments from so many people, like on Saturday..! this angler said to me,
" you know what skip, I have been charter fishing for over 40 years, and I have never seen anything like this boat, it is just mind blowing....!!!!!"
Well Nicola and I thank you for you kind words, and feel the £700,000.00 price tag on VP-2 was well worth it.!!
Call 0768 30 66 46 soon and join the winning team...!!
FACT: over 10 years the Blackwater challenge trophy has been fought for by around 5 of the best charter boats from our area, and Me and Nicola have won it 8 times, with all the prize money going to charity
See you all soon Guys n Gals...... Tight lines..!!!!!!!! -

Well, Vanishing Point -2 departed Bradwell this morning at 0800, the guys wondering weather I was crazy getting ready to sail, with comments of .... you sure Skip?? da dee da...!! yeah I'm sure..!! we have the tool for the job just trust me and you will have a good day..!!!!!!
So... with the ropes slipped, we were on our way, I had timed the trip so our arrival to the fishing mark would coincide with high water, thus having wind and tide together for the next 6 hours, and the party said ..bloody hell skip, where did the rough water go?? just experience boys, just experience..!!
Well the first fish was a double figure Skate in the first 10 minutes, the several more rays to follow in quick succession, then as the tide started to pick up and the ebb tide was under way, the Codling started to come to the boat, and this went on for 5.5 hours.
So... with the party nearly out of bait, we decided to call it a day with two 7 stone boxes of Cod on the boat plus the Rays, they had a lot of gutting to do.
Our bait digger has just dropped off the fresh Lug worm for tomorrows trip, so we do it all again tomorrow just an hour later.....
If you want to try a fishing trip on the largest charter catamaran in Essex and get out there instead of being cancelled off due to the weather then call......

Well......!! after two days of wind, the Vanishing Point=-2 was the only charter boat out of our port.
As you might have seen yesterday's party had a good time and caught Codling and Skate, and they appreciated the hard work me and my wife Nicola out in to catch them as many fish in the toughest conditions, so much so.....!! they didn't want it to end.
So they called two hours after leaving the boat to make another booking, (Thanks lads, we had a really goo time with you too).
But today with winds forecast at over 40 mph, my guys thought we would like all other charter boats have to cancel.!! but looking at what we did on Saturday with winds up to 30 mph, I decided to leave so we would arrive on the fishing mark just at high water..!!! in the sure knowledge that when the tide turned, we would have 6 hours of good fishing in relative calm conditions, and that is just how it turned out, and we fished until the tide died, then with some really nice fish in the boxes, we returned to Bradwell with a really happy party, in the knowledge they were on the only boat to be able to get out when the wind blows..!!! after all we were a wind farm vessel for 2 years..!! working seas of up to 3 metres... so 1 metre in the Thames Estuary does't phase
us in the least.
Well tomorrows party are all rearing to go, so watch this space guys n gals for more red-hot action off of the Vanishing Point-2 .... as Arnold Schwarzenegger says......... (I'll be back) and we are....!!!! . -

Hi Guys n gals,
well the fishing was quite good today, and the flood tide was very busy with lots of Codling and a few Skate in the mix.
There was an enormous amount of Whiting today, you might have been forgiven for thinking it was October, rather than the end of March...!!!!!! but we fished through them to connect with the Codling.!!
It was an added bonus when one of our party (Peter) had a small Whiting on, and was promptly scoffed by a 3lbs 10onz Codling...!!
looking forward to the next few trips and see if we cant find some bigger fish to fry..!!!

Lots of fish coming out at the moment, and a few of you have questioned the weather for the weekend well it don't look to bad, and if the wind stays in the West/south West we will have wind and tide together nearly all day, and by that time you would have hopefully caught plenty...
See you all at the weekend.....tight lines..!!!
