christmass 2008 got off to a great start.on the 22nd we pushed a little further offshore as the weather was fine and the tides were rite.we saw action from the start and there was a great stamp of fish coming aboard.we only saw 4 cod under 5lbs all day and the majority were in the 7-10lb range.we saw a couple of doubles and the biggest went 18lb 1oz to tom.there are still plenty of bigger fish about and will be for a while aswell as the odd roker we saw two today.there may be a few spurs about as the year gets underway, hopefully we will see some decent ones like last year when we were lucky enough to get one of 21lb.we still have a few spaces so get in touch to book a day up.

on Duke IV (Ramsgate, Kent)
12 Dec 2008 by Bob Marshall
Report on-board Duke IV
Good Cod fishing at the moment with fish up to 10lb along with Thornback Rays to 12lb. Expect some big Cod from now that will be following the Spratts, we have had a good run of Whiting this winter and they should stay around for a while yet. We should get some large Spurdogs around the new year and Thornbacks arrive in numbers in January. Dont forget the spring Cod run, should be good from February through to April. You wont catch anything sat at home surfing the web so come on down there's space available!
