I have fished since I could hold a rod and grew up aboard my dads charter boats in the 90's. as I got older I took my Orkney longliner out and my dads boats when I got the chance. I am obsessed with fishing I have no other real hobbies and just about any free time I have is devoted to fishing related activities. This may sound a bit sad but as I enjoy all kinds of fishing I have little time for anything else. My real passion is for sea angling but if I had more time I would like to spend a little more time fresh water fishing aswell. the first 'Galloper' was bought by myself and my dad back in 2007.she was a brinkliner 28 and kept me busy for a couple of years. My wife stacey and i bought the second 'Galloper' back in march 2009 she was an aquastar 33 and we ran her untill 2013 when we bought our evolution 33 also named 'galloper' and the evolution did very well over the next six and a half years.
early in 2019 we bought a blyth 33 and spent 10 months completely overhauling her to bring her up to the standard we like to give our customers. the bltyh catamaran is a vary stable and spacious platform which is very popular with the anglers for her speed, room and stability.
i look forward to many good trips aboard her over the coming years. Although I'm only in my 30'sI have plenty of experience as a skipper as before all of this i was running my dads boats since I got my Yachtmasters Offshore licence when I was 17 so I HAVE NOW BEEN A QUALIFIED CHARTER SKIPPER FOR OVER 20 YEARS before that I was taking his boat out with my grandad or brothers or friends whenever I could. I like to think that all of this along with many holidays spent fishing other venues has helped make me one of the most experienced skippers around.

Excellent Skipper went with two non fisherman friends and he could not do enough to help them, which let me get on with my fishing. Mind you think I should have got some help as they caught more than me.
Skippers Reponse: i'm glad you enjoyed your day Greg. thank you for taking the time to review your experience. best leave the others behind next time!!

Fishing Report by Scott Belbin
9 Jul 2025 by Scott Belbin
As many of you know by now one of my favourite things about sea fishing is the variety of fish. We can have an idea but we never know for sure what will come up next.
Just look at some of the fish we've had the last week for example. Many of which other local boats aren't seeing at all!
Jon surprised himself twice the other day with a decent codling and a cracking wrasse in between the countless bass, scad, mackerel and Launce.
Before that Paul's group maneged not one but 4 conger eels one morning! We've even had a little plaice and another stingray in between all the bass, hounds, tope, dogfish, thorn-backs, pouting ect.
The Thames estuary isn't known for producing a huge variety of fish so I'm pleased to see so much and it keeps it interesting for me too.
We have spaces for general trips, offshore bass fishing, 4hr trips and land of no fish trips which regularly produce species like black bream, greater weaver and other species too. Please get in touch for more information

Fishing Report by Scott Belbin

That's a wrap for our tope season. It looks like a bumper year for tope throughout the country and that includes Essex.
Targeting one specific species can often mean it's hit and miss. Particularly when that species is an apex predator (so there's fewer of them) but when it goes well it's hard to beat uptide fishing for tope. These not-so mini sharks are different gravy to anything else you will catch when uptiding.
I often say that the great thing about Essex is the average stamp is 35-45lb and the potential is for much bigger too.
We don't often get huge numbers but the fish we catch are worth the effort.
I was lucky enough to have a few single angler exclusive boat hires for tope this year. I feel even more pressure to find fish and justify their financial investment with me but thankfully it worked out very well for nick and Barry on their trips.
Barry gilders has tope fished the last few seasons (4 year 3 weeks) and often watched others catching fish while he missed the tope but smiled throughout. This year he got his tope, first a small 12-15lb fish, then a 47lb male then crowned it off with a female of 67lb!!
Nicks trip was memorable too with his pb smashed with a fish of 57lb one of 11 he caught that day and lost 6 more!! The previous day John's group had 11 tope as well and lost 8!
There's far too many others to mention but I do want to mention my mate Wayne. He fished on my charter boats for nearly 20 years and loved his tope fished. Last year he sadly passed away although he broke his pb tope just weeks before hand.
He left his tackle to us and I thought it would be fitting to use his rods and reels for tope this year. They accounted for the vast majority of fish this year. I'm sure he was watching over us. Hopefully we did him proud though I wish he could have joined us.
With the tope done we are concentrating on the bass fishing offshore and continue with the general trips inshore. If you want to join us please call 07956411528

Great news, we've just had the email confirmation that we have successfully secured a permit for recreational bluefin tuna again this year. We have a few bookings already pencilled in to confirm but still have dates and spaces available. If you want to join us this year please send me a message to let me know you are interested and if you would like individual spaces or to book the boat. we are planning to head down there from 26/08-03/10 currently though we might add more dates if these fill fast enough.
We are lucky enough to be able to offer several options to catch them with the fighting chair and 4 outfits for that, stand up gear or heavy spinning gear if we believe you are capable enough.
It's best to contact me on 07956411528
I must say I'm really looking forward to it and hopefully you are too. -

I thought I'd better post some pictures from our general trips rather than keep posting just bass.
Of course we been catching plenty of other stuff too from pouting and dogfish through to tope and stingrays mixed in with the bass, hounds and thornback rays on our general trips.
The weather has been fantastic too so smiles all round. This hot weather has seen a few more stingrays showing too. I really do enjoy fishing when we don't know what might come up next. It's one of the great attractions of sea angling to me.
It's also nice to have a run of general trips in between as they are generally more relaxed and less taxing than the long days offshore chasing bass and tope day after day (not that I want it any other way).
I have a couple of spaces on our last tope trips of the year this week as well as spaces offshore bass fishing.
Next spaces are
01/07- boat available for groups
02/07- tope fishing 1 space @ £100pp
