We had a fantastic day out with Gary and Danny this was the first trip out on discovery but it won't be the last we are already booking again.. Really helpful in every way.thanks for a fantastic memorable days fishing

We went out in less than favourable conditions with the amount of fresh water in the river and at the end of the cod fishing period, however Gary explained this a week before so we knew we may struggle. Despite this we had a 2 bucket loads of flatfish, about 10 cod and whiting. The food, knowledge, banter and customer service was second to non! We have boked four days with him on the back of our first experience. All rods and reels well maintained and of high quality, top baits prepared and mounted for use, instant bait swap by John. A great day all round.

There is a wonderful company called specsavers I really ought to give this company some business before I submit my review. I have since found out that the small turbot was a plaice (shucks). Also my apologise to Mike for the misspelling of his name. Also that the feature was for Sea Fishing magazine. I blame my wife entirely for these mistakes. In so far as she took it upon her self to open a nice bottle of Merlot and try to plough me with drink, prior to my fingers hitting the key board. EJ

This is my third year of going out at least once a month on Discovery ,with Garry (The Codfarther). Each year it gets better and better. The Mersey is a great fishing venue. We also had the pleasure of having the company of Mike Trussel , the internationally renowned Angling photographer and journalist. Who was doing a well overdue feature for a national Sea angling magazine later in the year. Mikes stories about angling in far flung corners of the world made even me go out a buy a lottery ticket.. Any way back to the fishing, we started getting Whiting , and specimen size ones at that straight away. along with decent sized codling straight away. At the end of the day we all had a good day . Including what was later identified as a small Turbot wow. Garry had a cod of 19lb on board this week. I was trying to get a cod into double figures this time , but fell short by just a few ounces. Which will hopefully get me a mention in Mikes article for Sea Angling magazine in Feb/March. Along with a feature on the best charter boat in the North west.

started day with safety & what experiance was on board gave instruction to those that needed it throughout the day,good explanation of what the day would hold, 30 cod whiting & Dabs nice one of 7lb but then the oldest club memeber showed us how it was done with a 19lb Cod Gary sorted bait wich was of high standard and proved itself with our carch if anyone is looking in this area I would highly recomend we will be using him more in future from the Three Tuns Uttoxeter

Thanks to Gary for a great day fishing for the Cod in the Mersey he satarted the day with safety in mind foumd out how much the club members new and instructed them on what we would be doing his aim was for us to have a good day and for a big Cod which as much as we would like is not always possible but on this day he did produce a 7lb for one member who was very pleased but then the oldest showed us how to do it (72yrs) with a stonking 19lb Cod, a very well run boat loads of good information aand help for those that needed it and we will be there again The Three Tuns Sea Fishing Club. THANKS again
