First time out on the Discovery as usually do most of my fishing in North and West Wales. Great boat, skipper, crew and facilities. Was hoping for a cod and despite quite a few being caught on the day there wasnt one for me on this occasion, There were however some good sized whiting and a number of flatfish too. Id happily recomemd a trip on Discovery to anyone who fancies fishing out of the Mersey and Im looking forward to booking on again as soon as my Mrs says I can go.

8th of jan one to remember day started of with steady codling and whiting and some flat fish gary asked if we were having a kitty for the biggest fish gary adden that the biggest fish over 9 lbgot a free days fishing on discovery he asked if a move to another mark for bigger fish would be good off we went ond with in the hour kieran clamed the prize with a 14lb plus cod cheers gary good day out see you for the tope fishing the oldham boys

Ten hours fishing on a ten hour charter, unheard of. Cod to 9lb Whiting to 2lb and dabs over the slack water. Great fishing on a great boat with a great skipper. Food, drink and bait included. another good day on the Discovery, weather wasn't great to start but who can't smile with Cod to take home and it improved anyway as the day progressed, had a laugh as always, Gary always has high standards, the trick is in maintaining them, which he, (and Daz), do with casual ease; always putting you on the fish,the tea, coffee and hot food just round off the day, a great day out as usual

back on discovery first trip this winter 18 cod on the deck plenty other fish as well what can i say gary came up trumps again back on 8 jan for some more cheers gary the oldham boys

Giving Gary and all the guys and girls at discovery 5stars every time is not a problem. It is truly a 5 star boat and crew. who put you on the fish every time. there are other feature that people fail to mention. It is a truly great day out.Liverpool seen from theriver Mersey is truly breath taking. the Three Graces are arcitectuectural master pieces, you get this view whilst catching fish. I am a frequent visitor to New York where one of my sons lives and often take the Staten Island ferry (free) just to enjoy the view of Manhatten. Liverpool from the Mersey is in the same league, but you cant fish of the Staten Island ferry.Roll on January when I am out again, with the Discovery boys

First time on Discovery. Being a novice at sea fishing I was a bit concerned but needn't have been as Gary and Mick gave excellent advice and created a great atmosphere. Tackle and bait supplied were great and had me catching my first ever cod on our first mark. Kept fed and watered all day thanks to Gary's culinary skills. Would highly recommend and will certainly be going again. Thanks lads. Mark

Gary and Mick made a fantastic team to give three friends and myself a fantastic fishing day to remember. We got into the cod on the first mark of the day (long before dawn!!!) and pulled fish in on every mark they took us to. A couple of us got our PB cod (ok our first cod!!) and whiting and dabs were had too, fish were landed all day with a steady stream of refreshments and food too. Firstly a big Thanks to Gary (Skipper) for making sure everyone had a great days fishing. Great days fishing and fish from the off. Thanks to the hints and tips I got a PB cod not once but twice, and Mick the crew hand filleted it quicker than I could bait my hook. All in all great value for money, great crew great skipper and a fantastic day out. Cant wait to book again oh and not forgetting the sausage butties and cups of tea or coffee.If Carlsberg done charter fishing they'd do Discovery

Brilliant boat, more importantly brilliant crew,who can make a good brew (more than once). and as allways put you where the fish are. every one on board had fish, some nice sized codling and decent whiting. Allways good in a fish pie. i have fished on charter boats all over the UK going back to the 1970s.I cant belive that i have found these guys less than an hour from home. They give really sound advice and are more than helpfull to novices. I cant wait till next week when I am out again. Spending the kids inheritance and the nursing home fees. Eric jamieson
