    Report on-board Bad Boyz VI

Had some amazing weather over this last weekend and for a group of 20 lads on Saturday down on both our boats for a stag doe it was fantastic, with the guys wanting fish for the bbq in the evening we dicided to stay fishing the reefs all day and being a competition between each boat we both had our game plans.
Fishing was fantastic with majority of the fish being Coalies, Pollack, Codling and Mackeral with a few Wrasse, Whittings and Dogies thrown in, by the end of the day the score boreds were totalled up and with over 400 fish on one boat and just 150 on the other it was oviouse which boat was on top and yet again it was Bad Ladz skippered by Aaron.
On sunday the plan was to try the reefs for a couple of hours then back to Holyhead Bay later on for the smoothound but on arrival of Bold Angling Club a few were asking about the tope fishing at the moment which has been not to bad so we dicided to play it by ear and see how the fishing went on the reefs, With a fair amount of the usual Pollack, Colies and Codling coming to the boat we thought we would try for some mackeral as the day before we bagged up but was today going to be as easy, NOPE!! we tryed 3 marks over a 5 mile strech and not a single one so there still hit and miss at the moment so we had a chat and the plan was to try for some tope off-shore after a 45minute steam we anchore in 50m of water with all big baits on the bottom, it was a little slow to start but after 20mins or sooo the bites started with the first fish on the boat being a nice Spurdog of 16lb and the fish keept coming with plenty of Bull Huss to 14lb and two Tope to the boat at 25lb and one a bit smaller, we finished a little early at anochor so we could have a few drifts on a couple of reefs on the way back with a plan to try get a few more species on the boat but it was not to be with just the usual Pollack, Colies, Codling and Wrasse coming up and then it was time to head back with the day of 13 species.
Sunday Nite i had a 5hour trip with general fishing on the menu but with 60 crab on the boat we had to try our luck for a smoothound but with little tide and a slight breeze spinning the boat at anchor it was hard work but we heard the ratchet on a reel at the back of the boat wizzing away so it was a mad dash to the back too strike into the fish and then hell broke loose with it going mad swimming all around the boat and taking 4 other lines with it but after a 15 minute fight a lovely starry smoothound of 15lb broke the surface and straight into the net, weighed, pictures and returned as soon as posible and with the next cuople of hours just producing Codling and Whtting it was time to head back in.
FIshing so far -------- Species count is to 31 for the year with every trip exceding the last and the smoothound in the bay on light tackle shows some fantastic sport.

Just a quick one to let everyone know how the fishing is doing, had a trip yesterday for Rays and general fishing, Stoped on a few reefs for the first hour or so with a fair few Pollack and Colies coming to the boat 2-3 at a time nothing of much size between 1-3 lb with the odd one 4-5lb with the mackeral no where to be seen, With a breakfast of sausage, egg and onion butties on the go we headed for the banks to try our luck for a few skate but once anchored it was a matter of seconds till the first Doggy!!!! was on the boat, with a ridiculous amount of them around and a few Dabs and a 10lb Huss thrown in, the Rays were just not getting a chance so we decided to head back to the reefs for the last 3 hours, We tried a few reefs to the south but with only a couple of small fish coming up, so we made a decision to head to South Stack with Pollack to be the target fish, Once we arrived the fish were coming to the boat thick and fast from Pollack, Colies, Codling, Wrasse and the odd Mackeral with the last drist producing a nice Cod of around the 6lb mark.

Fishing update Plenty of Pollack, Coalies, Codling, Wrasse and a few Mackeral on the reefs. Anchor is producing Dogies, Huss, Whiting, Dabs, Plaice, Codling, Rays and the odd Tope with the smoothounds arrving anyday now and a report from the local tackle shop telling us that a few are coming in off the shore.
