With a varible forcast it was straight out to the newcome bank with Luke and his mates where we had been the day before with some great fishing on the flood,i was pretty sure we would only be in that area until about 12.30 as we had wind with tide up until then with plenty of Smutts on the ground and the right bait for them they were coming in steady the best going 6lb but no Rooker or Bass showed today to my supprise,we cut and run back in to a more sheltered area inside the holm bank but the wind was blowing the boat across tide which is no good so ran in the shelter of the pier a few pin Whiting to fishish the day, thanks for sticking it out boys and look forward to seeing you all again soon,Brian

    Report on-board Ocean Warrior 3

We had another good weekend on the offshore wrecks.

The tides were really big, but, we still managed to find some really good Cod and Pollock on the drift using the sidewinder lures.

The weather has been really kind over the last week with some flat calm sea's and the fishing has picked up due to the water clearing up.

There have even been a few Conger showing now on the smaller tides.

We are now looking forward to some more of this good fishing weather for the months ahead....

Bernard Campbell age 62 from Liverpool makes a habit of breaking his Personal Bests aboard Flamer IV and has broken four in his last two trips..
His latest is a 5Ib 8oz Plaice beating his previous PB by 2Ib. Bernard was using 10Ib class tackle with a Sakuma two hook flatty trace that had plenty of coloured attractor beads on and a silver vibro spoon. The successful bait was ragworm and strips of Ammo squid.Bernard also caught a 5Ib Turbot on the same trip.

    Report on-board High Flyer 2

    Night Fishing Trip.
Tonight left about 6pm to our bass mark that previously done well for us, armed with every bait known to man expected a good night with conditions near perfect. Water was running well as we time our evening trips around slack water so we get the best fishing up and down. Our first mark produced first bass to Martin around couple of pound, with few smoothies and still those whiting! Young Sam caught another pictured here first one for him ,well done mate. The mark was a bit slow for my liking so moved slightly inshore , produced another bass around 3and half pound again with more smoothies and flatties as the tide eased. Stayed there catching an abundance of smoothies till slack water then decided to move right inshore in the dark. Payed off with a nice little skate, female returned well done lads , also few spotty dogs , more whiting , ended up with over 40 smoothies only kept 2 so very pleased with the conservation minded anglers we have now days. Had a brilliant night lads such a pleasure to be out, flat calm, no wind , and fish coming in , what could be better?
Thanks to all the lads, and also chalkys pizza and kebabs!! Looking forward to the next one.

If you fancy a night session please ring or email, leave about 6pm home usually by midnight, we work around slack being about 9pm so you get the best fishing times, will be looking for soles soon feed at night only generally not caught often during the day. Hope to hear from you soon. Jon. High Flyer.

  • 12/06/2014 Fishing Report by Bob Marshall on Duke IV (Ramsgate, Kent)

12 Jun 2014 by Bob Marshall

    Report on-board Duke IV

Darrens group fancied a day fishing for Bass so with a good forcast along with a spring tide we headed offshore. After catching sandeels for bait we began by drifting over the wreck. The Bass fed well on the eels making the decision to spend time catching them worthwhile. Along with the Bass a couple of Pollack took a likeing to the eels. Mission accomplished!
Last weekend Orla and Ether brought their parents fishing and useing there tiny rods landed some fine fighting Doggies while Dad had a nice Skate. Mackerel not as prolific as we would expect at this time of the year, but with fine weather and clear water we should see more coming through our area. With continued fine weather prospects look good for fishing around Ramsgate.
