The bass are clearly coming on the feed now as they stop spawning and they are HUNGRY! Young Sam showed the lads how it's done yet again catching 3 sizable bass amongst the schoolies. There were some other decent bass caught too as well as some not so decent as you can see by Sam's dad Steve's basslett! Steve did redeem himself though with a beautifully marked female thornback. Unfortunately we didn't get as long as I wanted on the hounds but we did get a few small ones before the weather pushed us off.
Weather and tides look great for this weekend and I have spaces for individuals and groups over the coming weeks.

After some moderate Northerlies over the bank holiday weekend, I wasn’t 100% convinced about having a run out today.
A group of lads from the Civil Service Sports Club had come from far and wide and booked the boat for the day to have a Species Hunt and with them already being in Whitby, we obviously decided to give it a go.
Today wasn’t about trying to catch the usual suspects of just Cod and Ling. Each fish caught was recorded and allocated points. The more species of fish caught; the more points gained. Most points overall would be declared the winner.
We set off with a short run to some rough ground around some wrecks at three miles to get the day going. I didn’t know if the water would be clear enough after the weekend, but surprisingly, it wasn’t too bad. The lads got stuck straight in and started picking up plenty of fish each drift, keeping me busy recording them. We drifted the ground for a couple of hours and everyone started to build their scoresheet up. This style of fishing requires good preparation to excel. Lots of rigs pre-tied, some with beads, some with bling, some looking more like Christmas Trees! It was brilliant to see so many different tactics being used. These boys knew their stuff…
Throughout the course of the day, we tried fishing hard inside, three miles, five miles and then a couple of wrecks to finish. As expected, hard inside wasn’t very good, but we caught consistently everywhere else. Nothing enormous was landed, but that wasn’t the aim of the day. A 10lb Cod scored the same points as a 10oz Codling.
Having recorded all the fish, I knew it was fairly close between John Wright and Andy Kaczmarczyk, and while organiser Gareth totted things up on the way back in, it turned out that they actually drew, with 175 points each, which is pretty rare in this kind of event.
To put a few stats on the day…. Total fish landed between the eight anglers was 240 fish, consisting of 14 different species. Codling, Ling, Haddock, Pollock, Coalfish, Mackerel, Plaice, Dab, Gurnard, Scorpion Fish, Wrasse, Whiting, Pouting & Poor Cod.

Here's young kai with his first Bass caught aboard BRAVEHEARTII on Saturday a nice chunky 54cm with several others he had along with smoothounds, dabs, whiting & lsd's !
At 6 years old he was even calling the species at the end of the day just by looking at the bite...... and 90% of the time he was right and had me in hysterics. Families are always welcome aboard BRAVEHEARTII and I have plenty of time and patience to ensure you have a good days fishing!
So why not get booked up for the summer and summer holidays and give them an experience they'll never forget.

Had a great day out with the Lymington club on their latest recreational trip . Plaice and Bream were the target species.The tides and the weather were perfect which made for an easy day. Lots and lots of Bream , not that many Plaice but some quite nice ones plus a bonus Grey Gurnard.
I have spaces on the evening league on Friday the 16th and 30th , Sunday league on the 18th and an individuals trip on the 27th possibly offshore

It's always great to see a family out catching fish and making memories together. Even though the weather had turned a bit we were still able to find loads of fish for everyone and some nice hounds. We couldn't fish where we wanted to but managed 20 hounds, some small bass, loads of whiting and dogfish and a dab. The weather and tides are improving later in the week and I have spaces on Sunday and into next week.

Today’s trip with Neverland Charters was incredible! We had 8 anglers on board, covering almost 30 miles round trip off the coast of Felixstowe. The smoothhounds were fantastic sport, really putting up a strong fight in the tide. Thanks to Neverland’s powerful engines, we got on the mark quickly and safely, navigating through the waters impressively. All fish were carefully returned alive. Can’t wait for the next adventure! ��

went out today even with big winds the doctors and freinds had this fishing trip booked for ages took full boat 5 hours just them i told them be choppy out there but they had come from all over as university friends so we did it as they wouldn't get other chance well what a laugh we all had even thou 3 spewing �� but still fished and. all landed a fish for there first time as all they wanted was 1 fish each rob got 4 lb cod of the wreck rest tommys on the ground all returned great lads and not 1 drink ������did well lads
