Rain doesn't stop playing aboard Galloper! Sorry I've been quiet lately but life is hectic and I have had a run off offshore trips which means long days and no signal. however they have been rewarding as you can see. Some days we have had to work harder than others to find them but the lads have achieved their quota of 2 bass each and returned many more. We've seen other species too like mackerel, Launce, scad, weavers and hounds to name a few. I have spaces for offshore bass fishing next week and right through until December as well as general fishing, short trips and even tuna fishing when we relocate to Falmouth for a few weeks.

Three matches on the boat last week unfortunately the fishing inshore over the small tides wasn't very good, but we did get a few nice ones.
First it was the Kings Arms Southampton.Really tough conditions only just fishable at times, but still managed 14 species including some nice Rays .Top 3 on the day
1st Chris Super Rod Rogers 267
2nd Jay Hemming 256
3rd Richard Dicky Day 250.
Next it was the Piscary Sunday League, slightly better conditions and a few more species 18 in total including loads of Mackerel,more Rays ,Red Bream, Dab, Gurnard and some nice Plaice for a change. Top 3 on the day

Next we had a Hampshire Police team selection match, although the weather was good in the morning the fishing was very difficult all day, 18 species again much the same but no Rays and the added bonus of a nice Brill .Top 3 on the day

july 20th
was a foggy old start to the day.but no problem to all the electronics on starship enterprise
off to the first mark for mackrel. no problem any amount of willing mackrel nabbing the daylites
off round the wrecks. and fish coming aboard from all the wrecks we visited
lovely plump cod and beefed up lings. smashing the tackle all day
cod to 10lbs and lings also upto 10lbs

Today we held (hopefully) the first Piscary annual summer open. It was a different type of match for us loosely based on international type rules and scoring, where every fish counts. Although it wasn't a species type day we still managed 16 species on the boat. Including 2 Grey Gurnards,3 Red Mullet! Plus the very 1st Butterfly Blenny for Piscary caught by Stainless Steve Bachelor. He wins a free trip for adding a species to the list! Once again we had to fish in very difficult conditions with a strong westerly wind and ebbing tide, but the 10 anglers caught 447 fish between them. Top 3 in the comp

The runners up also received TBars and Tubertini fold down buckets supplied by Stainless Steve engineering.
I would like to do some more competitions on this type of format, and it would be great to get enough anglers to make it a multi boat competition with higher prize money. I could possibly do one on Sunday the 21st of September, anyone who is interested in doing it please send me a text

�� Charter Report – 19th July
A tough start yesterday with wet and windy conditions first thing – proper soggy for a few hours! The crew stuck it out though, digging deep and keeping the lines wet. Persistence paid off in the end, and once the sun finally broke through, the fish came on. Some cracking sport on the bream to finish the day, but the highlight was Dave’s Thorneback ray – well deserved after a gritty morning. Good effort all round. View Boats Page
