    Report on-board Mistress

    Friday 6th Feb.

Evening all, I know my posts aren't in order but I've had a busy week and I'm just getting on top of everything! Well we had a bit of a red eye special on Friday. The gap in the weather fell perfectly for us, we had a crew of 4 lads for our day trip 7am-4pm, and to be honest it fished very well for us, no big ones to report but plenty of 2-4lbers, a count up at the end of the day saw a tally of around 70 codlings landed for the day.
the best angler landing 22 codlings.

We got back in, and with the forecast staying favourable, waited for the tide and went back out 6pm-midnight.

Everyone I know who has been on a night time trip had always really enjoyed it, currently ‪mistress‬ is the only boat offering these trips out of ‪‎whitby‬ . The tide took a while getting going, but we eventually started rattling a few fish out, Gary who chartered the boat for himself caught the two biggest of the night both 5-6lbers and got smashed by a hell of fish near the end of the night.

Needless to say we had a great day and night, if you fancy trying a trip with a difference, give us a call on 07977 436 903, tight lines, Rich

    Report on-board Dawn Venture

The wind has not been kind to us but we have managed a couple of trips out and what is showing is a lot of codling between 12oz and 1.5lb with a taste for black lug in the shallower water.
we have also had quite a few coalies upto 2.5lb and lots of huss upto 4lb.....nothing worthy of a photo ,but it shows that the fish are there and that fishing continues through the winter (when the wind allows!!) from portpatrick

    Report on-board Ocean Warrior 3

We have been out of the water for a few weeks for general maintenance.

Glad to say we are back in the water and have managed to get in a wrecking trip. The Really Wrecked SAC had some really nice Pollock, along with a new club record! The catch went to Steve Newham from Sussex and it came out at 19lb 6oz. It was caught drifting over an offshore deep water wreck using a sidewinder lure.

On the day they also had a few more Pollock up to 14lb, along the odd Cod showing.

We are looking forward to getting back out on the water, as hoping the fishing will only get better!

Glad the start of the wrecking season has gone well and hope for much of the same or better.....

If you fancy a day out fishing - call David on 07966 377145 or visit www.oceanwarrior3.com for calendar and booking information.

  • 08/02/2015 Fishing Report by Gethyn Owen on My Way 2 (Holyhead, Isle of Anglesey)

    Report on-board My Way 2

With high winds boiling up the sea and battering our small part of the UK for most of January, check out Gallery 156 for some epic photographs, we finally managed a day afloat the first weekend of February. Fishing was slow on each mark, however we did manage to catch dogs, whiting and dabs mainly with a few small poor cod, codling and bull huss adding to the species.

The tide kept us inshore for the day, and this combined with the very dirty water proved for a slow day. But with a bunch of regulars, a massive pan of soup, tea, coffee and cake not to mention some questionable jokes, we had a great time afloat and look forward to the year ahead.

    Report on-board Supanova II

As the busy season is fast approaching now and Christmas all but a distant memory i am getting excited to see what 2015 has in store.

We have ventured out on a few Mid Channel wrecking trips of late with some decent results with fish up to high teens featuring on every trip with the average stamp 8-10lb.

The next couple of weeks will see the real opportunity of a 20lb Pollack for sure. I love the fishing this time of year, when you get the weather the days are lovely and most of the time not another boat in sight..

A few spaces coming up over the next couple of weeks so give me a call 07976876667 or drop me an email lyle@deepsea.co.uk

Thanks to all who have continued to come to Weymouth in these chilly times, keep on coming guys it's the place to be.

    Tight lines,

    Lyle

  • 08/02/2015 Fishing Report by TERRY BATT on Vanishing Point-2 (Bradwell Marina, Essex)

8 Feb 2015 by TERRY BATT

    Report on-board Vanishing Point-2

Hi guys n gals, well at last Vanishing Point-2 will hit the water tomorrow..!! (Monday 9th Feb) and will be back in Bradwell sometime Tuesday/Wednesday and after sea trials be ready to start charter fishing as from next weekend.

So if you want to see what all the fuss has been about, come down and see us on-board and have a cuppa, and a chat about making your bookings, and take a look round if we are on the boat, best call us first if you want to meet on the boat, on ..07768 30 66 46 and we will arrange to show you around the vessel, which we firmly believe is the biggest, fastest, most expensive and luxurious large Catamaran operating today at over £700,000 to build, nothing was spared on this boat, as will be obvious when you see her.

I understand there are a showing of sprats at the moment, so hopefully that wont impact to greatly on our fishing, although it wont help that's for sure, but we usually winkle something out.

Well, Nicola and I are very excited, and cant wait to see you all that have already booked VP-2 we are now just rigging her with all the tackle needed to start fishing again.

We would just like to a huge thank you to all our very loyal customers who have come back to us in droves, you have made Nic and I feel very special..... thank you and see you very soon.. Tight Lines..!!

    Terry & Nicola
