    Report on-board Ocean Warrior 3

My group has been going out with Dave for the past 4 years and he always delivers:-). I called him to confirm Wednesday's trip and he advised we were going out for a mid channel wrecking trip for Cod and pollack....which is exactly what we did having over 60 quality table fish including a 17lb Cod to Shamil, on his first ever wrecking trip. Shamil also managed a bonus bass, one of two boated on the day. Dave and Jason were kept busy netting the fish, patiently untangling when the two first timers birds nested or overan after their leads hit the bottom and making the tea! I can't recommend Dave more highly. He has a wonderful sense of humour, knows where the fish are, and is an excellent skipper.

Tabish's crew had a cracking days wreck fishing. They had over 60 Cod and Pollock and a few Bass thrown in. The biggest Cod of the day was from Ish's Son on his first wreck fishing trip, of which he caught Cod, Pollock and Bass - cracking time for his first time.

This month has really picked up as the weather has started to clear. The fishing seems to be getting better and better. This week we also had Congers up to 50lb.

If you fancy a day out with Ocean Warrior 3 give Dave a call on 07966 377145.

  • 06/2014 Fishing Report by Aaron Smith on Bad Boyz VI (Holyhead, Isle of Anglesey)

    Report on-board Bad Boyz VI

Well it's been a busy few weeks for us on board Bad Boyz 2, we've mostly been on the drift hitting a big amount of Pollack and Coalfish to 4lb as well as a few Codling and Wrasse.

Fishing around Holyhead Deeps is on fire at the moment with a large amount of Tope, bulls and Spurdog to 20lb+++

When the weather has been to bad to get offshore we've been hitting a few new spots around the bay at anchor which has shown up to a dozen place to just shy of the 3lb Mark on light tackle along with the odd Skate.
There are Smoothies around but unfortunately not like recent years BUT ( everyone likes a second BUT ) if your wanting to catch a big smoothie Holyhead is certainly the place to try, every year we see fish well into the 20+lb area.

Off out to the offshore wrecks around the 30mile Mark this next few days in search of big Pollack so look out for an update.

    Enjoy the picture, tight lines

    Report on-board Flamer IV

During May the fishing was generally excellent with some great action with Black Bream,Rays,Tope,Smooth Hounds,Plaice etc on the inshore marks. The wrecks were very good for Pollack,Cod,Bass and Ling. 4 hour Wrecking Trip joint with the Queensferry

today we had the lads from fussy engineering, their were 19 anglers fishing from the skylark and the Queensferry.

we steamed together to a wreck a few miles from Scarborough and shared the wreck with the Queensferry to allow the lads to have a bit of good banter between the boats.

sea conditions were slightly unsettled with a very few of the lads suffering from sea sickness

we managed to get a good amount of cod in a short space of time and a few small ling. one lad even managed to get a brace of pesky pouting.

    3 Hour Wrecking Trip

Fishing the inshore wrecks off burniston
(Only a half hour steam from Scarborough)

From the Start we managed to board some nice cod around the 3 to 5 1/2 lb mark, some blegs and whitting everyone managed to catch something which was great.

then in the last half hour over slack water we managed to get a couple of ling around 5lb.

great to see a better stamp of fish coming aboard and signs the wrecks are starting to hold a bit of fish already.
