FLAMER IV FISHY NEWS July 2013 - Andy Wheal age 50 landed a Plaice weighing 5Ib 8oz.Andy was using 8Ib class tackle with a two hook flowing trace baited with ragworm,prawn and a strips of Ammo calamari squid.Andy is pictured with his specimen Plaice.
Dave Groom from London caught a 3Ib 1oz Black Bream and Personal Best which he caught on 8Ib class tackle with a two hook flowing trace baited with ragworm and strips of Ammo squid. Both anglers are members of the WSF - TWATS team ( The Weymouth Angling Team).

This report covers 2 trips Friday 26th July and 27th James/Tony/Luke came with us for a trip to one of our outer marks off LT big tide today so did not expect to much but the fish started to feed as the tides eased with plenty of big hounds and 2 nice sized Rooker both about the 7lb mark lets hope the weather is good for us on 30/7/13 and we can drop on to some more,Ray/Richard were up nice and early traveling from Cambridge on the 27th we headed out at 7.00am to the same mark as Friday26th to get the back end of the ebb and it proved that it was a good call we had the first Rooker on board in minutes and 2 hounds as the tide eased another Rooker came to the boat a nice fish of 8lb when the tide turned the fog came in down to 30yds vis but we carried on a few more Hounds all about the 5lb-7lb range giving a good count for them selfs one more Rooker just under 10lb we made tracks at 15.00 a great day out you men and look forward to seeing you all again soon,BP.

Just had 4 days fishing with Gwynie with the Bradford sea angling club. A fantastic time with plenty of fish being caught. We had 4 tope the biggest one scaled 38lb. plenty of Thornback Rays up to 8lb. Bull Huss,Whiting, Dog fish, Gurnard, and Smoothhound. Gwynie certanlly knows his stuff when it comes to finding the marks, not sure about his drinking thu!! We have been with Gwynie for a few year now and he has alway given us first class treatment. If you want a fantastic days fishing, look no further than Gwynie Andrews and Goldilocks.

Saturday 27th july 2013, 6 anglers out today have"nd been let down by ( 4 not even a fone call or text to say they not going to turn up ) Well apart from that flat seas 26 degrees today red hot we fish a couple of inshore wrecks first and took cod to 6lb, moved on and found Pollock to 5lb and that was it for rest of the day lots of macky and whites,

headed out on a lovely morning with gruzzle , barry and snapper on board past the stranded beamer aground just outside the harbour entrance to a mark 2.5 miles off lowestoft dropped anchor just as the tide was starting to run just south of a rip. snapper started the day off with a small hound closely followed alovely little tope had a few of these this year. with hounds coming at regular intervals through the day half a dozen mackeral at slack water and a nice thornback to finish the day off we ended up with 12 hounds to 7lb, 1 thornback @, 5lb 5 mackeral, 1 tope and a few spotties. a great day out with some pbs for some see you all again soon regards colin

Mick Long and his crew were aboard the boat on the 17th this month and enjoyed a lovely day at sea.
After struggling for the first hour or so we settled into some steady fishing on the 9 mile ground and ended up with a good show of both cod and ling ( with a couple of haddock thrown in ) at the end of the day.
The group managed around 60 to 70 fish all told and were well pleased with the results after the recent "slowish" fishing here at Whitby.
Things are certainly picking up now with the water clearing to an aqua blue colour at last.

The Whitby 118 boys had a trip with us the other week and had a ball !!
Flat calm conditions allowed us to have a good run offshore to a couple of wrecks which hadn't been touched for some time.
The first wreck only produced around a dozen fish to 6lb but the second one we visited rewarded them with a great 2 hours of mad fishing. The lads ended up with around 80 fish in total for the day with a couple of them into double figures.
They asked that the group picture be displayed so they could show their mates!!

Fishing around Holyhead over the last few weeks has been quite hard to say the least, where fish usually come up in reasonable numbers many drifts have produced fish, but you have to work at it, usually pollack, coalie, gurnard, wrasse, the odd garfish, codling, and mackeral.
I have noticed since the hot weather has arrived and the sea has become flat calm, the fish seem to have gone to deeper water to avoid the heat, we need a good blow to get things back on track.
Saying that, yesterday was a better day, since the weather altered, we had quite a lot of fish around the Stacks Reefs more than before with catches of pollack, mackeral, and at anchor at the reef six ling up to 6lb and two strap conger more pollack, five huss to10 lb not to mention the usually doggies so things are starting to look up at last.
The high tides are now on the drop so the Tope and Spur dog tides are coming up over the next few weeks. View Boats Page
