Fishing Report by Ross Parham
on Spot On! (Brixham, Devon)

Report on-board Spot On!
September was yet another great month for weather and the fishing did not disappoint as Spot On travelled to Weymouth for a 3 day fishing trip, day 1 fished the wrecks on the way over across Lyme bay were we caught Bass and Pollock the biggest Bass going 7lb 12oz then we headed for a few drifts off Portland where we managed just 2 bass and both small so returned, a last couple of drifts over the mussel beds when the tide turned produced some great plaice with the biggest going 4lb 8oz.
View Boats Page
Day 2 was straight onto the mussel beds where we again picked up some more plaice and small bream, a great Plaice of 5lb 12oz.
Day 3 we started off on the plaice before the tide became too strong and we headed home via a detour to some mid channel wrecks were we hit into some great action of Pollock and Cod.
The guys for the second 3 day Weymouth trip changed there mind and decided to head across the channel to Guernsey and I must say what a great decision, the wrecking on the way over was superb with lots of double figured Pollock, a few cod and ling. The banks produced bass and turbot although none huge still good numbers, but the trip was made when we landed on a great little Bream mark where it was as soon as we hit the bottom the bream were biting and we ended up with great sport, again lots of small ones to be returned and a few bigger specimens kept for the pan, alongside this we found jumbo mackerel and garfish to complete the trip.
Hats off goes to Gordon of Manor angling who has been trying for 60 years to catch a Turbot and he managed 7 in one day.
Skerries trips have been producing some mixed bags with Blonde rays still showing strong, a couple of plaice touching the 5lb mark have made some great catches for the banks.
Wrecking has started to produce larger Pollock and a couple of sporting Coalfish have also made an appearance.
Thank you to everyone who has supported Brixham and Spot On and I look forward to seeing you all again soon and beating more PB's for you all.
Pictured is Terry with his fine Skerries Plaice of 5lb
Spot On is now proud to announce the sponsorship of TOP RIGS who supply many great rigs to most tackle shops across the UK, so some great end tackle available for you on board.

Report on-board Ocean Warrior 3
Now that Autumn has arrived the Turbot and Brill fishing is now starting to slow up. Although over the last couple of weeks we have still seen some nice sized fish on the open ground marks and some good sized Conger showing on the wrecks.

We are now looking to the beginning of the Winter Cod fishing season, although with the odd wrecking trip sneaking in there. There are a few Cod starting to show already on the inshore ground marks.
We now have our tide tables for 2015 and are now taking bookings. There are a few weekend dates available at the moment, so get yourselves booked in early as the weekend dates are going quickly already. -

Report on-board Dawn Venture
The first of the autumn storms graced us with its prescence and we had waves of upto 25ft battering the coastline.A short trip out was possible before it came and we caught over 40 dogfish in 2 hours, along with 6 huss, the best of these being just over 10lb.

the water is now the colour of mud and it would be safe to say the mackerel will have departed as there numbers were dwindling in the latter part of September.
Cod are now the target species and uptiding will be the preferred technique. The boat is running all through the winter. All uptiding rods are held on board with reels grip leads and pennel rigs. -

Report on-board Warrior II
Hi all, well what a very good summer, Finished season (last day of Sept) with 163 blues for the year - not too shabby !! but the No's of qualifiers (over 7ft long) was well up and finished with Dave Keen (yes same chap that had a brilliant June) on the last day of season 30/09/14 had a Blue shark of 8ft 3in est at 138lb, there have been bigger out of Looe but maybe next year will be our turn !!. The new season started on the first Oct and the Sharks were still going for it - had 6 on the 3rd and lost a couple, Steve Chivers came down and although lost 2 out of his 3 days got the Sunday in and had 3 fish - very plump (not fat !!) at 75/80 and 85lb est. The weather seems to have closed in a bit now and have started losing days to bad weather. Still have a few shark trips booked and the Reef fishing is normally fab when the weather allows so give us a ring if you still fancy a day afloat, that's all for now, tight lines, Pete

Report on-board High Flyer 2
Been a bit slack on the reports lately due to being out the water for winter refit now all done, plus last few trips not fantastic as in between summer/winter period so catching a few skate and doggies but also small winter codling and whiting making a show. Plenty of fish really bit on the small side but keeping the anglers busy better than nothing! Report covers weekend of 4/5th with Sat being very lumpy, strong southerly whipping the sea up, fishing wasnt too bad with Stephen pictured here with 3 nice skate, about dozen smoothies same for spotty dogs and whiting most of the day. Had to run for home early day at 2.30pm as sea turned bit nasty time to call it a day.

Good weekend in all thanks to everyone, looking forward to these codling coming in soon, need a few frosts! Fishing Report by Scott Belbin
on Galloper (Brightlingsea, Essex)
Oct 2014 by Scott Belbin
Report on-board Galloper
Im sure you don’t need me to tell you that autumn is here now even if summer does keep showing its face on the odd day.we can have some great autumnal fishing around essex for a variety of fish with cod and thornback rays our main target. The fishing this year looks promising with good numbers of early codling showing at the moment. To be honest in some places they didn’t seem to go away all summer and we have just watched them grow. Inshore most fish are 8-18 inches long with the average fish around 15-16 inches. These are a bit small to keep right now but another few weeks and we should have some great sport. Although its not too bad right now with good numbers about. On a short evening trip in the estuary we had a dozen last week. Not bad less than 3 hours fishing. Further off the bigger fish have just started to show in numbers and this set of tides is likely to push more of them up. The thornback rays have been in good numbers through September and into October. Most fish are 4-8lbs at the moment and the stamp of these is likely to go up in the coming weeks. Some trips have seen over 30 rays amongst the odd dogfish or two.

There are still a few bass and smooth-hounds kicking about as the left overs of our summer. These fish can pop up as late as December as a nice addition to the catch. Over the coming weeks we will be targeting some mixed bags of cod and rays both inshore and further afield. This time of year can be one of the best for a decent cod and things look good so far. Pictured is john with one of the best so far at 8.12lbs. i wouldn’t expect one every cast but they are definitely out there and to a much greater size too. i update my website very regularly with dates and reports. so for more information, available dates and reports please visit www.essexseafishing.co.uk or follow us on facebook on the essexseafishing page. or call on 07956411528UPCOMING INDIVIDUAL SPACES ONBOARD Galloper
