The first Trigger fish of the year was caught today. The lady who caught it from Kent was very pleased with her catch the first one she has ever caught.
Plenty of plaice, dog fish, smooth hounds and the occasional bream.
Hope the weather improves over the next few days in time for the Air Show next weekend.

    03,08,13 Tonys trip.
Today we left the Marina knowing it was a chance with the wind, we turned back by the rock channel and gave the lads the option of aborting the trip as we still had time to get back in, but they insisted on fishing the river against our advice as the river fishes best in the winter,, we set about with scratching rigs only to be catching small Tope to about 1 lb by the light house we moved about a bit eventually catching Rays and whiting but no Dabs , The lads had a good day with Les taking the money with a 5lb ray,

    Report on-board High Flyer 2

Been a bit slow on the reports down to us generally bashing mackerel and gets a bit boring to readers about same thing. Most trips filling up was hard to start as keeping to the 30cm size limit with tons of small ones about. Plenty of large launce this year and sandeel too, no shortage of weavers as usual. Nice to see the odd gurnard on the feathers but not the pesky whiting still about! Todays pic is the lads from Leicester, George, Simon,Darren,Wayne,Ricky,Jack,Paul,Collin, and Matty. Plenty of fish about, few dogs thrown in as well , was an enjoyable day all round until the wind blew up! Well big thanks to all especially appreciate the early start and long drive , hope to see you all soon. All the best . Jon.

21 Aug 2013 by Roger Phillips

    Report on-board Che Sara Sara

It takes a lot to be a charter boat skipper, patience would be the top of the list i reckon. Was one of those days where we were put on the fish time and time again but they didnt want to play. Various baits being used to tempt the pollock, frozen sand eel, mackeral strips and artifical of all shapes, sizes and colours. In the morning we drifted several good marks picking up the odd one or two here and there.Tide turned in the afternoon and the fishing did pick up with several nice pollock coming aboard. At times it was very hard going as the fish didnt really come on the feed but nice to be out enjoying the sun. Everybody had fish to take home so all in all not such a bad day. Mackeral, pollock, ling , gurnard and wrasse making up the catch.

August has been a good month for fishing inshore and offshore on wrecks and ground fishing marks, on the inshore fishing Plaice bream mackerel gurnards smoothhounds been caught, on the wrecks more fish been caught anchored up with bait, rather than drifting over with lures, Turbot and Brill fishing has been good on one trip just under 30 turbots and 1 brill caught, Paul Walker catching his first Turbot of 9lb 6oz, And Calvin caught his first Brill, so if you want to catch some lovely turbot give me a call and make a booking.

Many Thanks to all our customers.

    Tight Lines.
